Well, I bought one (paid $89.00 for it), and when I tried to use it, I couldn't hear a THING! I got several other nurses to check it out, and nobody liked it. I took it back. Littman is still my stethoscope of choice!

Littmann all the way 'round!!!

Is Ultrascope the ones with the designs and pictures on em?

I have a Littmann Classic II SE

I'm one who can't hear doodly-squat with any of the Littmans, but I LOVE my Ultrascope! I can even pick up heart murmurs on pts. whose doctors haven't caught them yet. I can also hear lung sounds through layers of blankets. I only paid ninety bucks for the thing, while my $250 Littman gathers dust on the shelf in the hall closet. I guess that's why there are so many varieties out there.......something for every pair of ears!

I love my Littman Master Cardiology, and I also have caught murmurs that docs missed (one time, resulting in a big-time "save"for the pt.).

mjl: Doncha just love when you say to a doc, "What do you think about that murmur Mr. Smith has?", and he says, "What murmur?"

Yup. I especially love the look on their faces when they realize that a 'mere' nurse has detected something the doc never knew the patient had.:D

I have an Ultrascope--can hear anything--it's great. Everyone though is a little different. Have to use what works for you. Try different ones.

I love my ultrascope. I can hear anything with it. Plus, it's cute! Mine has a picture of a frog on it.
