UIC Graduate Entry Program

Hi folks,

Thinking about applying to UIC's GEP program. Anybody here applied and was accepted? What were your stats?

My stats: 3.2 Overall GPA/3.5 Sci BA in Sociology. Office Manager in home health care, tech in a medical equipment co, medical assistant (no cert) in dr's office and later office manager there. Volunteering in Nursing Home around 120 hours...

From what I can tell on their website, after completing the NCLEX, you immediately start the master portion of the program. Is this correct?

I think I'm going to have a heart attack any time I receive a new email from now until they notify us!!

Right there with you!!!

I interviewed on 4/22 for the adult -geriatric NP and am pretty nervous about the pending notices of acceptance. I am so anxious when I get an email notification on my phone. I guess next week will be the the moment of truth?

Yes! next week !

Relax. You got this :)

I'm so nervous! I want this so badly!! I have a feeling we will find out tomorrow. Crossing my fingers for everyone this week!

You know whats hella funny?

...

I was reading my application status e-mail that we all received from AP earlier this month about our interviews. As I was reading, I monitored my breathing and i honestly did not breathe until i read the word "pleased to inform you". Hahaha a part of me is just hoping that the first word in the e-mail we receive about the final decision is "CONGRATULATIONS!" So I can breathe before I lose my breath!:sneaky:

@rainkissedleaves I did the same thing!! I feel like I'm not going to be able to open the email for a few minutes because I'll be so nervous

I think your anxiety is contagious :roflmao:

@steve21021 I'm sorry! I just wanted to let everyone know that I just called admissions today and asked them when they were sending out decision notifications. The guy on the phone said AFTER May 3rd...which means we won't hear until next Monday apparently? I feel like so many different things have been said by so many different people, but that's the latest that I've heard!

That's a shame!! You would think because they have already made their decisions they could just shoot out some quick emails!!!

Well the coordinators only submitted their feedback on the 26th (supposedly). It hasn't been a full week and its not even May yet, so I'm not surprised that we might have to wait another week.

Calm breathing and meditation.

@sittenfeld I didn't think about that. I'm sure that there is a great deal of work put into making final decisions and I tend to forget that some of these people are professors and clinical instructors and have their own things to worry about! I graduate from The University of Arizona on May 10th so I hope I hear back before then! Getting bad news (possibly) on graduation would not be the best way to end college.

My birthday is this weekend so I was definitely hoping we would hear by Friday but I'm TRYING not to get my hopes up lol
