UIC Graduate Entry Program

Hi folks,

Thinking about applying to UIC's GEP program. Anybody here applied and was accepted? What were your stats?

My stats: 3.2 Overall GPA/3.5 Sci BA in Sociology. Office Manager in home health care, tech in a medical equipment co, medical assistant (no cert) in dr's office and later office manager there. Volunteering in Nursing Home around 120 hours...

From what I can tell on their website, after completing the NCLEX, you immediately start the master portion of the program. Is this correct?

So did you have to send an official GRE report @rainkissedleaves? Really didn't want to spend more money on another score report.

Yes I sent in my score report ASAP. He said for temporarily send him a screen shot of my receipt that it's been sent because it takes 3-5 business days before the UIC receives the scores. So I did that this morning and thankfully my file is still under consideration. Yes, please call ASAP about this.... I would never have found out if it wasn't for him. He was extremely kind about it because he could tell I was freaking out on the phone. LOL.

I will go ahead and do it tonight without calling then and follow up with UIC tomorrow. I'm sorry but they really should have been a little more clear with the GRE waiver policy if we aren't the only ones. But thankfully the guy was nice about it! I have a feeling who you're talking about and he's definitely really awesome :)

Do you need the email address of the person that reached out to me? He told me to send him the screen shot to that address. Let me know so I can PM you :)

If you don't mind sending me that email address that would be great!

Hi All. I also applied to UIC GEP Adult-Gerontology Primary Care NP; and am anxiously awaiting hearing about interviews. UIC's spring break is next week; March 25-29, so I am wondering/hoping they let us know about interviews before spring break. I have a good friend who is currently in the UIC GEP program FNP; and she said in 2011 she was notified of her interview the Friday right before spring break. Also for her cohort; they had both an individual interview, followed by a group interviews. I am not sure if they have changed interview process though since 2011. Nice to meet everyone, and I hope we all hear shortly.

Thanks rainkissedleaves! You're the best!

@rainkissed love I am also juggling my decision between UIC and and DePaul MENP program. UIC my first choice, but I was accepted into DePaul for fall.

Sweet yeah I know everything will work out in the end. Congrats on DePaul :) I'm excited to hear back from UIC. The person I talked to mentioned that my application will go for review next week. I suppose all the MH ones will get reviewed next week as well. Again, that's just an assumption.

No problem, @hi! Good luck and keep us updated.

Eeek I sent the score report last night and called and emailed the guy this morning. No word yet, but I said "one of my friends told me blah blah blah" so hopefully that works haha.

It already worked. Speaking into existence. I'm sure he will thank you for making his work easier. :)
