UCLA New Grad Program

I start UCLA in a couple days. Just wondering if anyone has been through the new grad program and has any advise or thoughts on how it is...

Also, where would be a good place to get an apartment?

Thanks!

Hi Kate612,

I have to say that It was great, though I have to take my exam bc I didn't pass I truly enjoyed my floor I can't wait to get back to it, though we have alot of paper work to fill out its fine, you will be paired up with an experience nurse (hopelly she/he is nice) and the will show what your floor entails, by the way which floor are you going to be working on My floor is 6west.

Have fun

Are you talking about the Master's Entry Clinical Nurse Program that starts FALL 2006?:spam:

No, I am employed at the UCLA Medical Center. Someone else thought I meant that too!

Hi Katie! I work at UCLA but in the Doris Stein Eye Center which is outpatient. Just wanted to welcome you.

Hey, Thanks!

Hey katie you didn't say which floor you worked on

I have a friend interviewing for the New Grad OR program tomorrow.

She lives in South Pasadena (where she knows and LOVES her neighborhood), and refuses to move the Westside where rent is INSANELY high.

If you want lower rent, you have to not mind a commute - which in LA can be really bad depending on where you're coming from.

If you're not already familiar with the Los Angeles area, it may take some time to get to know, but you can always move later after you've found a niche.

Hey guys,

I passed my boards and now I can return to my floor. :balloons: :balloons: :biggringi :biggringi :smiley_aa :yeah: :w00t:

Isn't it the "Jules Stein Eye Institute"? I worked at UCLA 25 years ago, and that is what it is called.

Hi everyone! I am a senior nursing student and I graduate in May 08 but I have an interview with UCLA in two weeks! Any words of advice before I go through the interview process? It's my first nursing interview ever so I'm really nervous. I'd appreciate any feedback. - Thanks so much!-

I've worked registry at UCLA. I think it is a good hospital.

But some units provide more complete orientation than others.

I would ask about orientation for sure.
