UCF Basic BSN Applicants Spring 2015 Cocoa/ Daytona Campus

Hello there!

I will be applying to UCF's Basic BSN program that starts in the spring of 2015 at the Cocoa and Daytona campuses. The application window is from July 15th to August 16th. Anyone else planning to apply? :)

Hello Team!

I wonder when we will know? Any ideas...time right now is passing super slowwwwwww ;)

I applied to Cocoa beach and Daytona.

I wonder if we will received an acceptance letter from both programs?

Can someone be accepted in both programs? How does that work?

Any one knows?

Science prerequisite:4.0

All prerequisites: 4.0

overall GPA: 3.257

TEA's score: 84.7

Does anyone know exactly when they will give us confirmation as to whether or not we were accepted? I'd assume it would be in mid October but I'm not sure.

I know each applicant pool is different but realistically I don't think with my TEAS score I will get in to the program, but has anyone heard of someone getting in with a 78% TEAS? My GPA is only a 3.45 and Pre-req is a 3.8.

ANHH,

I just graduated from the Cocoa program and I had a 78% teas, 3.5 gpa, and a 3.3 pre req, so please don't lose hope!

They said we'd hear back in six to eight weeks from the application deadline. Six weeks would start on September 27th. It does seem like historically no one hears until mid-October at the earliest, though.

Do you think if I called the College of Nursing and asked how many applicants there were this semester, would they give me any information? If someone already knows anything, can you let us all know? I think I may try calling. I just want to know what kind of chances we all have, don't they accept 36 for each campus? Anyone know how many have applied in previous semesters?

I think they say the typical is something like six times the applicants for the spots they have. Try calling them, though. Let us know what they say! :)

So I called UCF this morning and the woman I spoke to said there wasn't any information on the applicants for this spring, so she gave me the information for the applicants for Fall 2014. Which I know this is going to be pretty different than the regional campuses for spring term, but I thought it'd still be nice for you guys to know. So, the Orlando campus for the Fall 2014 BSN program had 432 applicants, only 412 of them were eligible to apply, and 120 were offered a spot in the program. I think those were the numbers, I don't remember exactly. And since they say the regional campuses are always less competitive than Orlando, I think this gives us really good odds. 1 spot for every 4 applicants seem pretty reasonable, so if our odds are better than that then I'm not really too worried.

You're right, that doesn't sound too horrible. Thank you for sharing!

I called and asked earlier today and she said last year around 150 people applied!

Was it just 150 that applied to both cocoa and Daytona? Or 150 people applied to one individual campus?

150 applicants in total!

150 in total isn't bad at all! That's like 1 spot for every 2 applicants, I'm pretty confident that all of us are going to get in! We have about 3-5 more weeks now until we hear back!
