UAP Question - Please help :)

Hi,

Im taking NCLEX in couple days.

Im so confused on UAP's scope of practice.

Some questions say they could reinforce teaching and some questions say only LVN can reinforce teaching.

How about hanging IV fluid? I know RN has to initiate IV fluid but can LPN continue to hang the meds?

Could you please help me to clarify this?? :)

Thank you!

LPN can hang meds but cannot give IV push meds.

In nclex world, LVN's scope of practice as far as meds go, they can give topical and PO meds. Anything invasive is outside their scope of practice. IV meds are invasive, so nope. Both LVNs and CNA can reinforce teaching. Hope that helps

I'm a UAP at the hospital, and I also have a hard time distinguishing between NCLEX and real world. For example, in the hospital I'm allowed to do orthostatic vitals on a patient. On the NCLEX, the RN is supposed to do it... due to it being an assessment. Idk if you are studying UWORLD, but UWORLD has a ton of questions regarding delegation and knowledge based questions specified with each nursing title, (LPN, RN, UAP, case manager etc.) Hope this helps!!
