NJ22 sounds like a nice vacation

Ado I do find that often substitutions in baking are often less satisfying

Tweety glad you passed and didn't have to take the class

Dianah that is awfully hot

Stars I think you made the right choice with regards to doctors

Work was slow...no new cases, no one off, no work needed on the side project. Which was good as I spent at least an hour trying to get a billing issue clarified, finally did, spent most of my time on hold. Had time to renew one of my licenses (which took longer than expected) and do an online CEU. Rest of the day was quiet, ran an errand and exercised. Slept better last night, still got up twice but this time fell back to sleep pretty quickly

Today have a coworker off work so hopefully won't be crazy. Don't think I have a lot scheduled. After work I have grocery shopping and exercise but otherwise should be quiet

Will be in the upper 80s today

G'day.

Joe, I hope things aren't too crazy.

Welcome back J22, sound nice.

Stars, hope the new practice isn't as neurotic about the narcs.

Got up early and cleaned the bathrooms already and have some laundry going. Will have some breakfast and continue on with chores. I feel like food wise I'm ready for working the next couple of days. But will make something for tonight's dinner or a dinner later. I made some more vegan lentil tacos and will make make a burrito with them with some rice and pico de gallo,

I tired though and go back to bed. LOL

I must have been tired because that is and incoherent sentence. I did lay down for a bit and dozed off with Waffles who is always happy to snuggle and sleep.

Gouda Aphternoon!

Tweety, I quite get it that the misuse of "Illegal Substances" and even prescribed meds has been a huge problem here in Florida, but I still feel that being treated with suspicion right from the get-go is a bad beginning to what should be a collaborative relationship. When you get the feeling that the (Alien-life-form-Not-a-Doctor) provider is just seconds away from pouncing on you for any perceived misdeed, it is a little off-putting.// ie: they could have toned it down a little and still gotten the idea of what they thought or feared that a patient was or was not "UP TO" by making an appointment with them. Being viewed as potentially guilty before being proven (in MULTIPLE ways, over time and testing) to actually be innocent of pulling the wool over their eyes....It still felt kind of insulting. So, if it is still so painfully obvious with this next provider I will certainly speak up. But I was so taken aback by the approach of the first association I went to, I felt slapped hard for no reason, and was pretty much speechless; it took me a while to process it. And I do still feel very strongly that the respect should be a two-way street.

We are having our daily thunderstorm, with LOUD and sharp rumbling.

The other niece and her ... ? husband or ? grown-up son ?... are supposed to be coming by for supper this evening. I don't think it will be an overnight thing. I don't think other dogs or young children will be involved.

I woke up this morning after a dream in which I was having a disagreement with some woman who, in the dream, supposedly was my mother. She and I and my sister were going upstairs to see what this 'mother' was complaining about: how "You and your sister are always wanting to move the furniture around..." (??) and when I turned on the stairs and said to her, rather annoyed with her, "Around from WHERE?" Then I woke up on my hands and knees on the floor beside my bed! It took me a second to realize where I was! I wasn't hurt or anything, I was just trying to figure out what was going on, how I ended up where I was in relation to what was happening in the dream. Then it was just a matter of realizing what had actually happened, and getting back up and onto the bed! STRANGE!! But even though I knew I was awake and it was 'just a dream', I was still quite annoyed with this woman un-necessarily making a big fuss about something so stupid as moving our furniture around in our own rooms!

I am successfully avoiding, once again, what I feel like I "should" be doing, toward straightening out my room ... Maybe I am reacting rebelliously somehow about the dream? No, I am just this way, not wanting to deal with it. J and S are going to be going out of town at the beginning of September, so maybe I can clear my mental space and JUST DO IT to my room when there is no one else in the house. Maybe I will even find my hearing aids, who knows!

Think I'll have me a cup of hot coffee now; that sounds like a good idea!

Hello all!

No Stars, too bad you still haven't found your hearing aids! I'm sure, though, losing things would kinda be a "norm" when one has picked up and moved. I hope you find them soon. Scritches to Tinker! Glad you enjoyed the movie (I commented on yesterday's thread).

Joe, you are sure good at multi-tasking, getting in a CEU while on hold for another issue, lol!

Tweety, congrats on getting some housework done, AND getting meal preps in! The lentil tacos sound good!

I slept OK last night. Not much to report here. Our laser printer is providing vertical lines across printed pages, dh and I need to find out why and fix the issue. My computer issue still exists, I just ignore it. Dh is working on another plan of attack. Not being an IT person, I am blissfully unaware of additional avenues of attack for the problem. I leave it to him and youngest ds (into cyber-security) to work on. Otherwise, I would probably take it, as suggested, to the Geek Squad!

My friend S, with whom I walk, is up by Santa Barbara, helping her oldest son and his (expecting) wife move. She texted yesterday that she had finished carrying all available boxes to the new house, and had taken the afternoon off to go sit on the beach. She sent me a beautiful photo of the beach, and I could just hear the waves and feel the ocean breeze! I haven't been to the ocean in a long time, maybe it's time to go for a visit. The photo reminded me of Tweety's "obligatory beach pictures." :)

Have a good afternoon and evening!

Hullo. I am feeling rather sad about the passing of Dolly Parton. She was such a talent, and at the same time, a genuinely good person. She will be missed.

It doesn't help that the air is quite smoky today, with an AQI of 150. And it is warm and humid. The laundry pile is somewhat smaller, but more to go. I hemmed up the jersey sleeves for DiL for her bike ride this week, and I need to mend a duvet cover. We went down to the demo garden to snip thistles. This is an ongoing project of dh's, and with the yuck weather I didn't want him spending too much time doing it, so I went along to help.

Tweety, I understood what you meant. Sometimes I tired too and go back to bed.

Dh did a big project on his upright bass: removed the nut (below the scroll) and put a shim under it, then replaced the nut and re-tightened the strings, and adjusted the action. Then we both changed my guitar strings. He has a special technique that he uses to secure the strings up on the peg-head, which (of course) I took advantage of!

Yes, Dolly was a shining light in this old world, PLUS she was a prolific songwriter! So sad to lose her. I hope her goodness continues through her legacy.

This evening we ate S's home-made chili and the niece had a strawberry cheese-cake with a candle in it while we sang "Happy Birthday" to her, and then we watched the most recent Toy Story movie. And after I walked Tinker, I came into the bedroom and sat with the laptop and for some reason was reading all this political krapp for so long that and now it is too late to get into anything streaming..... so, maybe I'll do some mindless reading (PEOPLE) and then turn out the lights.
