Tweety hope your AC is fixed today

Stars good you were with him to prevent any falls

Hi Ado

Dianah hope the RV continues to function well

Work was busy, with being off and having to work the side project. Better by the afternoon but then I got a new case. Thankfully there was little information to review so I was able to get all the initial stuff completed. Always stressful coming back from a break, it seems

Rest of the day was pretty quiet. Went to the doctor's, was pleased I'd slightly exceeded my weight loss goal and my BP was down. Ran an errand or two and that was it

Today have grocery shopping and exercise after work but otherwise a normal day

Going to let the shelter know I'm keeping the cat and to send his remaining paperwork. Have been nervous about committing, afraid some major health or behavioral issue will show up. But nothing has after more than a week, and I think we've bonded to the point where I couldn't give him up even if something major did show up. Once I have the paperwork I'll get him set up with my current vet and get him some pet insurance

Going to be a bit cooler today, low 80s, going to rain and storms apparently

Good morning!
Congrats on deciding to keep the cat.

I always a trial weekend with my dogs and I always kept them.

Dinah, safe travels and enjoy yourself when you get there. Leaving tomorrow? Seems like you got this trip packing and van prep down to a science.

The guy is here fixing the air conditioner. Thankfully he came on the 10:00 side of 10:00 to 12:00 and looks like things will be working unless there's a snag which given my luck lately I wouldn't bet surprised at all.

I heard from my sister and the movement of mom to her final resting place will occur this week after cremation. Dad and her will go see her Friday. Sad to see my 92 year old father go through this after nearly 70 years of marriage, but he's hold up. Her ex-husband is still there helping. I didn't realize how close he was to my father during the years he was married to my sister. They have a lot in common like military service, sports and what not and I'm glad here's there. He's been through this with both his parents and is helpful navigating the terrain such as social security, etc.

I was getting off a leg machine at the gym, which was crowded and took a tumble to the floor and made a scene. I jammed my middle finger and the pain was excruciating for a bit. But while it's bruised some it's definitely not broken. I'll see if it will heal itself the next couple of days. If not I work with a good hand specialist. It's my left hand and being left handed it hurts whatever I do because I'm extremely left handed. My ego is bruised always. LOL

Made some appointments that I missed such as Waffles ophthalmology appointment and the will stuff. I was able to leave my televisit to follow up with the BP made and the GI appointment as it was. BP has been good. My BP on my dad's machine was 110's but here it's always 130s. Either way the med is effective. We'll see what going off the steroids in a couple of weeks does.

The guy prounounced the air conditioner working! I'll give it a chance to cool off then go get Waffles and my stuff at best friends.. We'll have lunch and watch TV.

We are watching "100 Years of Solitude" Part 2 on Netflix. We watched part 1 in 2024. It's interesting. It has some religious, political and supernatural elements to it.

Hmmm, pet insurance... might not be a bad idea, think I ought to look into it. Any recommendations, anyone?

I've been sort of awake, but drowsing for the past hour, waiting for the AM meds to kick in. I have to make some phone calls. The bank reminded me I have not done a change of address for Medicare, so I will call them and the supplement and Humana. I wish I would get back my certified documents so I can go ahead and get my FLA DL, and get the address change on one of my checking accts. (it's already on the other one). Also have to go out for a quick drive to locate the new Dr's office for next week's appt.

And I need to scrounge around on the 2nd half of the room I didn't search through for my hearing aids, and pick up the phricking mess I keep adding to. Already that half of the floor I cleaned up the other day has gathered more dog fur and 'me' hair, and dust, so I must get out the Swiffer and put it to good use. 😵‍💫🙄

Tinker is now on high alert because the niece and her little son are awake and stirring around in the kitchen, which makes their dogs bark, etc. I'm not sure when they are going home, but it would be nice if it is today, so I can once again walk Tinker around the back yard.

If I could get a little more settled in, I could go to the hospital to see about their balance classes or some tai chi classes somewhere. So far my life has consisted of errands and document collections and w-a-I-t-I-n-g. I need to start that "new life" I have meant to begin on when I moved here! I am in a funk right now, as I have done nothing much to expand my days towards seeing other places and meeting new people.

I have some leftover moo-goo-gai-pan for lunch. The niece went and picked it up at 8:30 PM last night. It isn't as good as the same order from the hole-in-the-wall place we got it from before. But I better nibble a bit, and put on some clothes so I don't embarrass myself in public when I go out!.

Good morning folks. I haven't been doing anything exciting, so I haven't had much to post about. The weather has been pleasant. It was windy yesterday which blew the smoke away. I can see it building over the mountains east of us though.

We had Zoom meeting with a gardening education committee last night and I was so irritated that I nearly signed off. There was a new member and we were introducing ourselves to her. The one member who uses these meetings as an opportunity to air her grievances started complaining how we never help her. And then she threw another gardener (who wasn't present) under the bus about an uncompleted project. Nice intro. Anyway, the new person has a background in graphic arts and I'm hoping she can help with informational signage in the demo garden.

I have been slowly reading a book called Finding the Mother Tree. It's good, but dense with info about how fungi help trees grow.

Condolences for your mother, Tweety.

Dianah, my aunt always said buying a car was like digging a whole and tossing money in. But it is nice to be able to just pack up a place to sleep and go where you like. We will be leaving again on Sunday for a week in Oregon.

Poor, poor ol' Wolfie! The cutest baby in the world is up on the bed with S and J, and the baby can now stand and walk, so Wolfie has to keep moving his spot to get away from the kid. You can see in his eyes exactly how miserable Wolfie is to have such active 'company' on his and his owner's bed. He doesn't mind sharing with Cornelia, the black cat, but Cornelia is much more staid and respectful of Wolfie's ownership of the bed; finds a good spot and stays there instead of bouncing around and jabbering! Not sure when the niece and kid and dogs are going home, but I gotta say, that girl (woman) is a real go-getter when it comes to cleaning up the yard and the lanai, etc, and she is quite pleasant as well. And they say I am responsible for the kid's first spoken word, believe it or not. J pointed out that I always say "hello" instead of "hi", and the other day the kid looked up when one of them walked into the room and said, "Hello!" clear as a bell. (Glad I wasn't cussing!)

I have given my change of address to Medicare and my supplemental health insurance place. THEN I had to call Humana (my 'stand-alone') Part D supplement. Well! Humana has just switched computer programs and the woman helping me was having to go back and forth between the two programs, because, naturally the new one has glitches galore! So I ended up being on the phone with her for nearly an hour, but it was not at all tedious. I was so glad I was not the one having to deal with all of it: I would have been tearing my hair out! And I completely understood having problems on-line because, well, remember when I was having trouble getting back into allnurses and had to plague poor Joe V endlessly? This woman and I ended up laughing alot and comparing stories about eyeglasses and trifocals and other things unrelated directly to my Humana enrollment, which had to be done because I am no longer a NC resident. She did end up getting me on a similar plan for Florida. But if anyone ever needs to know of an exemplary Humana agent, I have the perfect referral for you! I gave her the six gold stars across her forehead, a crown, AND a blue ribbon for all the trouble she had to wade through on her computer. She said I was THE BEST CLIENT she had spoken to all month! I wear that honor proudly! Anyone willing to go through that much trouble to make sure I had exactly the best (and least expensive) plan, when the computer programs were trying to thwart her at every turn, deserves well beyond just "kudos"!

Hey I saw an actor last night on VERA ,who was also a character in SHETLAND. No big deal, really, but I was just pleased that when I recognized him, I could remember where I'd seen him before. Small victories are worth mentioning.🙃

I think I said I ate my leftover Chinese food for lunch, and now J has just called me and said I could have her leftover Chinese meal that she couldn't finish last night! Fine by me! Not sure what it is, but I'll take a free meal ALMOST any time!

So, that's all the news that is fit to print. I have to run out and make a deposit into the acct from which my debit card draws the money. I may also drive to see where the new doc's office is located, well uh, no, maybe I won't because it is coming up on the time rush hour begins! Smart executive decision!

Solved one mystery at work and was relieved it was as easy to fix as it was.

Hubs brought the boat back from the lake today after reading comments from other boat people that the water level was so low they were unable to use the ramp to get their boats in/out of the lake. He didn't have a problem but I guess decided that since there is no relief in sight for the low water level that it was time.

He replaced the shower head in our bathroom over the weekend but grumbled that the bracket that holds the hand-held shower head wasn't included so we'd have to use the old, broken one until he could go find one to buy. This morning, while hunting for shoes to wear to work, I found said bracket in its little plastic package under the bed. He must have dropped it and not realized it. Is it time to worry about Hubs' brain? Just kidding, I think!!

I started on more cleaning and organizing in my office yesterday. For some reason that always creates a bigger mess before anything gets better.
