So I accepted my offer after getting a few quotes from other places, It wasn't the highest pay but very close and I took this one since they were fastest to answer my questions. I just don't understand some of the calculator use in pantravelers Here is the breakdown for ICU days in Louisville KY. 3/12 hour shifts 13 weeks.
$
27/hour
Shift dif
Evening 1.50/hour
weekend 1.50/hour
OT 40.50/hour
holiday 40.50/hour
call 4.00/hour
call back 50.71/hour
M&I 35.00/day
allowance 245/week (I think this is same as M&I)
Lodging allowance 52.75/day
(estimated to be $1600)
OK so I found my own housing so I will be taking the stipend, I also have a tax home, my question is where and how I plug this extra info into the calculator is it by total amount or do I break it down by week or day. For example on the calculator it says stipend but I have info by the month and or day do I need to multiple the day amount by 3x13 to equal the total for 13 weeks? Then where do I put the M&I which I think is the same number just shown twice as the Allowance? I just want to know my weekly take home. I didn't negotiate anything this time just wanted to start my first assignment which starts Jan 11.
Thanks for any help

Shift differential for travelers? That is unusual. Why would your callback rate be higher than your overtime rate? I think you would like your overtime to be higher than your regular hours. ;-) But if you don't want OT, or they say no OT is available, don't bother trying to negotiate it.
So the current calculator doesn't have drop downs to compensate for different time periods for every pay detail. There is a new one if the updated site ever goes live to make this easier. The major one to pay attention to is housing where it is for the entire assignment. But there are guides linked on the calculator page that will help you not only with number entry, but using the resulting numbers in a variety of ways.
If you want an accurate amount of take home pay (the new calculator will have weekly amounts in results), use your taxable hourly and go to paycheckcity and plug it in. Warning, KY taxes are surprisingly high. Then add your stipend amounts and you should have a dead accurate take home amount.
Attached is an example using your numbers (I put in 90 days for housing). You didn't list health insurance, travel pay, licensure reimbursement, or completion bonus. All of those numbers if applicable, do make a difference, especially if comparing different agency offers.
Thanks Ned, the overtime rate is 40.50/hour and the reg rate is 27/hour, I will not be getting any completion bonus, licence reimbursement or anything else. I will get travel pay of 31 cents hour each way but its only 155 mi from my home so that's not much. I just wasn't sure how the housing went into the calc sense it didn't have a drop down for per hour/month or otherwise. But thanks, this helped a lot.
So the deal with overtime is the calculator figures your base pay at $46.65. Overtime at $40.50 is actually a drop in pay, just as you have fulfilled your base hours and the agency costs have been reduced dramatically (they no longer owe any more housing or per diem). It is up to you of course, but my opinion is that dropping your pay for overtime does not provide proper incentive for you to make the agency more money and represents excessive profits off your extra work as it stands. /rant off
