I did a search and I didn't find what I was looking for, and frankly I am not even sure I am posting this where I need it to be. So if this is in the wrong forum could you please move it over to where it needs to be? Thanks
So I am a 1st year nursing student and I have to take Science of Nutrition before being admitted into my 2nd year. However all of the Nutrition courses has been evenings which I can't do cause my husband leaves for work at 5pm. So I heard that Rio Salado offers this class and it will be accepted. I just don't know how this works on federal aid. Will it be covered as part of my pell grant? Will taking 10 credits at my home school plus 3 credits at Rio Salado equal to the full time for the pell. I have left a message with my my advisor but she hasn't reached me back yet and this is driving me crazy. Thanks in advance and sorry if I am not in the right place.

I'm not sure how it works with the grants, but I took my nutrition class online through Bellevue College http://bellevuecollege.edu/ and there were students from all over the world taking it at the same time. Make sure to check that your school will accept it, but I know that they do at the universities around here.

I don't think you can use your financial aid at two different institutions. It would be best to call the financial aid office of your school and they should be able to tell you.

Your Pell is only valid at your home school (the first school listed on your FASFA) so if you take another class at a different school it will not count towards the total units you are taking. The only aid you can get for the nutrition class would be a fee waiver (waives your registration fees) if you meet the income guidelines.
I used to work in the financial aid office at my JC and was asked this question so many times...HTH!
I also agree with the other postings that you need to make sure that this course will be transferable to the school you are now attending.
Thanks for the wonderful information everyone! I made a rash decision to go ahead and register for the evening class in the spring. I will only need 1 day out of the week to find a babysitter and I am sure my parents can help.. well I should say I hope my parents can help out.
