Hi !
I am an overseas nurse and I am trying to get registered at one of the Australian state's nursing boards. I need to provide a transcript of training and have just received word from my case officer that my current transcript is not acceptable. I called her to ask for the specific details that are needed after which I sent them only to receive another message that the transcript is still not up to standard. I may be wrong but I am feeling like I am being giving the run around and would very much appreciate it if some of you could post an example of a transcript of training. I doesn't have to be a complete transcript, just something that shows the exact details it should contain to satisfy one of Australia's nursing boards.
Again, I would be most thankful for a good example.
Cheers !

Can't you ask them exactly what they want?

The nursing board maybe asking for a transcript which only your nursing study provider can verify. If this is the transcript which they require then you have to request that your tertiary provider (nursing school you attended) to provide verification of your studies. Your tertiary provider then will send this directly to the nursing board, not via yourself. Hope this helps. IP

Well it would have to be certified copies and they may be looking for a grading key. They may also want to know what was being taught to you so if your training provider can come up with something official for that you haven't really left any avenues uncovered.
It's pretty awful that they haven't told you what exactly you are doing wrong with your application.
Just a thought. Maybe your transcript is lacking full information. My transcript stated as eg below:
Year 1/2/3
Subject Number of hours Grade Achieved
I recall that some overseas trained nurses had to complete a bridging course because they did not meet the required amount of hours equivalent to the nursing board standard.
So, if your transcript does not show how many hours you have achieved then the nursing board will reject it.
What does your transcript state?

Hi
thank you for your kind thought and yes my transcript looks the same :subject, grade year+ the hours of the practical training,a total of 2450 hours but that was`nt enough, I need to provide them with the brake-done of the training hours and I heve been going round circles, because nobody wanted to give it to me but I think I will get there eventually.
thank you again for your interest and your help

My transcript included how many hours I had for each subject and placement, with a description of what was taught. I trained locally, though, and it was a hundred years ago so it may be different - the idea was to ensure that I had been given the breadth and depth of experience, education and testing they required.

I am not sure how it goes in your country but most nurses from our country in Phil would submit the TOR with grading system plus hours per unit in all subjects. Along with that, a document called RLE which has the complete breakdown of all clinical hours we did - like in what specific area e.g. neonatal, med & sur, psychological ward, Operating Room, Delivery room, etc, is also submitted.
Some still have to submit another document called theoretical breakdown of nursing subjects taught and if there were credits given, a justification and further description of subjects that were credited is required. As far as I know, when they do reject something or when they think you are lacking any document, it should be written in the assessment letter that they will give you and will be asking for specific documents and not a vague reply.
I think you should contact the board directly by calling them or sending a formal email to inquire about your requirement.
I hope that helps a bit. :)
Good luck!
hi
thank you for your letter, that`s a good idea to contact the bord direcly in case they will not except the doc about the practical hours, which I just managed to get now from the school. They already have got the rest of the doc. regarding the theoretical trainng with the subjects, hours and grades(noting system was still on the scale of 1-10 in Romania).
