So I started the nursing pre-reqs last year and I am into my Biology's right now. I have maintained a high GPA and the lowest grade I have gotten was a B-, otherwise mostly A's. I brought over my English grades from when I attended different community college for a different degree. I was wondering would bad grades for classes I had (such as graphic designs) and such reflect poorly on my application to get into the nursing program? Or will they only look at my English credits that I transferred over?

Check with your school and see what they say. My school will look at every single class I ever took at every college I ever attended to calculate cumulative GPA. :) Good luck!

And other schools only look at the combined GPA of the prerequisite courses. Talk to thye school you are interested in. Good luck

I agree with the 2 posts above. It all depends on your school. The program I really want to get into calculates your GPA based only on the grades of your pre-reqs. However, there are 4 other nursing programs in my area and they use your cumulative GPA. It's all up to your program, so you'll have to check with the school you wish to attend.
Good luck :)

My school only takes the GPA from the courses that are required for the ADN degree. So if that is the case for your school you'll be in good shape.
