Give yourself a couple of days to digest the failure. Cry, beat your pillow, go for long walks by yourself. Then when you have grieved enough, put it aside, and make plans for your next try. You can do this as long as you don't give up.

i totally understand you right now... i took my nclex rn 3 weeks ago with my friend, she took her nclex at 8am and i took mine at 11am. im the one that drove that day for an hour which is not bad and bought us breakfast, and bought her energy drink since shes the one will take the exam first.. later on i found out that i failed and i called her and she told me that she passed and she cant believe it and she was laughing and screaming and very happy...i am happy for her, but at the same time i was very depressed...now she still calls me and tells me that she is very happy that she can finally rest and sleep good and not to worry about the nclex anymore... sometimes i just dont wanna asnwer her phone calls because it just hurts me more.. like when she tells me that she feels free and she is finally an RN. it hurts... it breaks my heart. i was crying the whole week and i actually went to see a doctor and asked for a anti depression and anti anxiety, and the doctor was like, okay why? i told him a little bit, and he told me that he failed on his first time. that he has to wait a year to take it again.. the 2 nurses came to me and told me that they failed on der first time too.... haha. my friend just actually txt msg me if what im doing right now, ofcourse what else.. just hang in there.. we will be an RN someday..

Keep your Head UP, we can do this, that CAT computer is NOT smarter than us! I am definitely trying hard to do the same! I recently didn't pass the NCLEX in March : ( and know how you feel..I am gonna try take 2 in June..
I've heard rumors that the content is all new and different on the second try...and I am discouraged that they just upped the pass rate April 1st! I've also heard that the content is similar just different questions. I would really appreciate any thoughts you have on this..I'm having trouble picking up and starting to study again because I just don't know where to start..I did all 265 questions...phew (it made my brain mush).. and still failed. My candidate review results all are NEAR PASSING & one ABOVE...sounds almost promising but now I think I just need to start all over b/c I don't have anything specific to "focus on" Any advice would be appreciated ; ) Let's trade tips ...

The content is new because the pool of questions change every 45 days which is why you have to wait before the BON will allow you to resit
Wow that was quick..Interesting theory and I appreciate the feedback.. How do you know this, or is it hearsay? In GA, I have to wait 90 days to re-test..I know just my luck..only places that I know you have to wait 90 days are GA & GUAM, but you think this theory is still true? That must be why some people who fail the 1st time have sooo much trouble passing sometimes. I know call me crazy, but I think it can be sort of a luck game.. but not always true, some are just verrry prepared. I think some people know their interest topics better than other topics &/or just happened to retain the items they receive on NCLEX. lucky that is.., if the majority of questions they get happen to be ones they know..i think that's why some think the nclex is easy & others think it's impossible. I wonder what the EBP is for actual nursing practice/performance r/t actual nclex results.. i would think wacky b/c there are lots of extraneous variables...So why do we take NCLEX again and why did they up the pass rate? lol..KIDDING..sort of..
I do want to be very knowledgeable and be able to know everything I can to help my patients! it's definitely worth studying for, but I'm not sure the nclex always does it's job..lots of people joke that they never use all the crazy info that they had to know for nclex & some say that seasoned nurses would have trouble passing nclex these days because the nclex is soo "textbook nursing," probably not necessarily true (lots of seasoned nurses read nursing textbooks!), either way the profession is changing & requiring extra competency all around, I have met these seasoned nurses and--THEY ARE SMART... I think that there are people who could be smart amazing nurses that fight c nclex and take forever to pass, also some not so smart lucky nurses that don't seem to struggle in the least (i think it happens)..? If I had to choose; I would rather be a seasoned nurse that knows how to practice but might fail todays nclex..i think.., but I guess in the end.. if you have the drive to make it thru nclex then one day -- you will probably have the drive to become a great nurse either way..
Maybe one day when I'm a nurse I will try to make the nclex even smarter...lol
For many I think the reason they fail again is because they rush to resit and don't prepare properly plus it is believed the further out from your training the more you forget things that you learnt in school. I remember reading on NCSBN regarding questions change periodically but can't find it now.
thanks guys for the response, but how do i prepare now, i am totally burnt out, i dont know what material to use, i am just in the loop, i am here @ work supposed to be studying but i have no energy, its like am brain dead
