TNCC

Published

Hi,

I am an ER nurse at the VA Medical Ctr and I was wondering if the TNCC was helpful with daily nursing task and critical thinking? I have been thinking about improving my critical thinking skills so that I can be marketable in all areas, especially if I decide to work part time at a level 1 trauma hospital or going to the ICU. Please give me your thoughts/insights of how the course was over the 2 days and how long do I need to study for the exam. thanks to all my nurses!!

Specializes in Critical Care, ED, Cath lab, CTPAC,Trauma.

It is absolutely worth every single second. It should be required of all ED nurses

It was the best class I have taken since graduating nursing school. It gives such a good overview of anatomy, physiology, critical thinking skills, and trauma.

Specializes in CVOR, CVICU/CTICU, CCRN-CMC-CSC.

I use it all the time, regardless of what type of case I happen to be working. Well worth the time. Definitely skim through the material and if you come across something not familiar, make sure to read over it b/c the hands-on and written exams will probably touch on it. Easily crosses over into my EMS work too.
