I have a hard time with this too.
I use Mosby Pharm Memory Cards to learn the drugs classfication, main side effects and teaching.
Hogan also gives hint how to memorize the generic with prefix suffix to look for
if you dont know the drug it helps to at least know either the generic or trade name.
commericals help but i hardly watch tv

For the NCLEX I only studied Ch 2 in Exam Cram-RN book-Pharmacology
and the TV Drugs. I had 5 from Exam Cram and 5 TV drugs and I passed with 75 questions.
What is exam cram and where do I get it?? I have not heard of this.

There is no way to study all of the meds, impossible. But you can study the main classifications and their side effects. The drugs that I got on NCLEX, I had no clue what they were and I never heard of them (except 2) all of the others were drugs that I could not even tell you what class they were in. When I was in doubt I chose the side effect answer that was the most severe for patient. Way to many drugs to study. Passed at 75.
