Tips for coping with Test Anxiety

Does anyone have any tips that could help in coping with test anxiety? For example, yesterday I had a soc. test and the anxiety got so bad that when my prof. walked in with the test my eyes just filled with tears. This happens every time I have to take a test. Plus I get a knot in my stomach and I make myself sick! I have no idea what to do about it either and it's really stressing me out!

Remember, it's just a piece of paper. You have the power to crumple it up, but you are gracious and allow it to exist on your desk. It cannot demand you answer the question. It's asking a question. If you don't know, circle it and move on. Come back later and check your circled questions.

Taking tests is more of a mind game than anything. You have to play the game-don't cram ten minutes before the test, if ya don't know the info by now you are NOT going to learn it ten min before a test. Tell yourself it's just a test, I am familiar with the info and take it one question at a time, doing the ones you know for sure right away and then go back to the ones you are not sure of. Remember to breathe. My favorite saying "Breathe *****, Breathe"-makes me laugh when the stress starts to come on ;-)
