Tweety glad things are mostly going good for you

Stars that is a good way to look at things, perhaps not the last step in the journey but a big step up from where you were

Ado did the same with M&Ms recently, I too seem to be prone to compulsive behaviors

Work was again pretty good, not too busy, spent a fair amount of time of the side project, but I had the time. Did get a new case at the very end of the day but left that for today

Spend lunch hour putting the car cover on given the severe storms that were expected. Thankfully no hail or power outages, just thunder and lighting and rain and wind. Fasted for the first time in a long time, due to binging on M&Ms yesterday. Surprised I managed it, since losing weight in recent years I've found fasting more difficult. Tried out the new friend app, I think this one may lack enough people nearby, but we'll see

Today should be an ordinary day at work, will have to spend at least some more time on the side project. Nothing going on after work except exercise

Going to be cooler today, mid 80s, with more severe storms expected. Going to leave the car cover on just to be safe

Went to sleep late (early AM) despite telling myself I was going to turn out the light earlier. Several hours later Tinker suddenly leapt from the bed with a very loud high-pitched bark, which made me jolt awake! Don't know what made her do that, but WOW! I did eventually manage to get back to sleep, and woke up around 9 AM. Got my coffee and came back to bed, to take my meds and sit for the time it takes for my meds to kick in. Am REALLY conscious that I NEED TO apply myself to the messes I have made or ignored over the past few days. So, in a few minutes I will have to get dressed and take Tink out so I can return to the house and DO STUFF! My inbox is on overload and I 'should' catch up, but that's what slowed me down yesterday, so here and now, I will close down the laptop to prevent myself from endlessly lollygagging on-line!

See yez'all laydah!

Hello all!

Not much going on here. Dh had a medical appointment yesterday, just to touch base. He reports all went well (numbers are good, current medication regimen is effective and agreeable to him and the MD).

I just made soup, and once it cools, I will put it into the freezer for evening meals. I made the usual, chicken tomatillo soup. Will do laundry tomorrow, some cleaning today.

I downloaded several books recently, started reading one of a three-part mystery. I couldn't get past the first few chapters, it was (to me) poorly written -- felt like reading an elementary school fiction. So I started another one, different author. We'll see how this goes. I have several to read about the 1996 tragedies on Mt. Everest, from a couple different viewpoints. I followed that event online as it unfolded, it being one of the first times reports of the climbers had been able to be put online. Very sad. I could NOT climb like that, yet I know ppl are driven to do so, despite the cost and risks. I will start reading those books when I am mentally ready for some heavier reading.

We want to get together with oldest ds for lunch next week, sometime. Will be in touch with him as to a time that is good for him.

No Stars, keep on keepin' on! You are doing great, preparing for your move, your new chapter (and it'll be here before you know it)!

Joe, did you find ANY potential connections, through the friend app, that are close-by?

Tweety, enjoy your day off. You certainly deserve to un-wind and decompress.

Have a good evening!

Hello -

Stars, I wanted to mention, there are some very nice income - based apartments for folks 62 and older here in the Midwest. One of the largest management groups is National Church Residences, and I believe they may be in dozens of states across the U.S. My sister has a beautiful one bedroom apartment, fully ( and I do mean FULLY ) equipped with safety features. Rent is one - third of your monthly income. There are endless " perks" included, one of the best is the regular donations from area grocery stores. There are income limits for eligibility. I have been wanting to mention this to you for a while now !

Also - and this is totally unrelated but I hope the Daily Diary gang will find it humorous- I had to Google what FIFA World Cup was ! There seem to be hundreds of commercials about it on TV, and I was in the Meijer grocery store last week and there were lots of hats, jerseys, t - shirts, etc. about it, LOL. So now I know. 🤪

Reminds me of the time in the 1980's , when my college boyfriend worked in a screenprint shop. They were working overtime, printing shirts about the " Sweet 16" , then the " Elite Eight" , then the " Final Four"....and I had absolutely no idea what he was talking about. He was dumbfounded that I had lived my entire life and didn't know what it all meant. I'm a baseball fan, LOL ! !

Have a great evening 😀

(shhhhhh! abbnurse, I looked up FIFA today too! I knew it was related to "football," but now I KNOW what it stands for! lol!)

abbnurse, your info couldn't have come at a better time'. I WILL, by golly, get TO Florida, but financially I will be getting by on the skin of my teeth, until the 4th Wednesday of July, as I will be working out of my June SS check. I had applied for a loan, but rec'd a letter today listing ALL the reasons I would not be getting it, and it really bummed me out! I will be going through the foods in my pantry, to take down in my car when I leave on the 8th of June. (Whatever Is not terribly over the 'sell by' date.) As I always say, it's a good thing I like popcorn, peanut butter, and things that can tide me through the thin $ times. I can't expect the folks I am moving in with to feed me. She (J) will be recovering from her total knee surgery. I don't think they cook much, but go out for ? fast food or take-outs of whatever. I do want to make sure I have enough dog food, of course. I also have some bottled water, rice, pasta, and canned tuna., soups, cranberry-apple juice, and a number of etceteras. I am going to cook up some packages of mixed-veggies and rice, put them in the freezer, and pack them well on ice, and I will have 'safe to eat' supper the night I arrive. So I won't starve, I know, but I hate feeling this way, like I am walking a tight-rope!

If it would COOL down just a little bit, the neighbor from 2 houses over can go through my hubby's tools and see what he wants to buy from me. I don't know what kind of income he has, but ANY money would be welcome. There is a Craftsman tool box on wheels, which also has in it a lot of the "nuts and bolts and screws" that guy said he would even be interested in buying. I'll tell the neighbor he can drive his truck into the back yard and back it up to the shed door. BiL said he wouldn't let the toolbox and its contents go for any less than $200. Prolly won't be cooling off anytime soon, but maybe he doesn't mind sweating in the little metal shed. // The boxes that I will have to go through, I may end up carrying to the den so I can sit in the AC while I do it. Some of it I can just pitch. Oh! Speaking of pitching, I have to roll the trash barrels to the end of the driveway for pickup tomorrow. I'll be back in a minute!

Today I DID get some things done. I cleaned up the kitchen, got table/counters cleaned off and shelves/cabinets cleared out, and tossed things that are not items that can be donated. I dumped out scads of bottles of spices which are so old some were almost solidified! I don't have much of a sense of smell, but I can only imagine what that horrendous combo stinks like; I DID sneeze a lot! I emptied them out so I could put the bottles in recycling. Then I went through my MiL's photo collection (piles of pictures developed at Eckerd's!) A LOT of stuffed full envelopes, most of it was fascinating. Saw Nannie with her 'Marge Simpson' hairdo, yes, really! And my hubby's former wife also had a REALLY JUMBO hairdo like that way back when. Found some photos of our wedding. and pix of my niece and nephew when they were adorable little pip-squeaks. Couldn't go out to look through the boxes my BiL pulled out from the collection of stuff in the shed from when I moved here MANY years ago, and have yet to rediscover what I haven't missed at all, and the things I WANT TO find so I can pack them for more storage-duty. Today it was extremely hot and suffocatingly humid, and they are promising us 102 degrees on Friday. UGH, I must be 'practicing' to live in Florida or something!

I better put some food in my stomach as it is well after suppertime. Don't know what I'll watch on the TV TONIGHT, but I can assure you it won't be "GODZILLA vs KONG"! Guess it will be an HGTV night.

Outta here for now! Y'all behave yourselves!

OMG, even I know what the World Cup is, only the biggest sports event in the world where billions of people follow and watch. LOL

There's a stink about the US not allowing a referee from Sudan in because he might be a terrorist. Shameful.

A coworker is going down to Miami with her husband to catch a match with Brazil. They are from Sri Lanka and like most of the world "football" is a big deal. They paid $2,000 for tickets.

Dianah, I was not off today.

Work sucked.

I was talking to my neighbor about the World Cup, and she said, " Oh, so it happens on one day? Like the Super Bowl? " 🤣 🤣

Yah, I knew there was an upcoming World Soccer Cup. Now I will connect it to FIFA.

Tweety, time for some Work Sucked Therapy.

Laundry done, made a quick trip to the grocery store for a few things. It's 99 degrees out and feels humid. Per the app: humidity 17%! Well, so much for MY forecasting future!

I have a couple recipes I want to try: a high-protein banana pudding-type-thingy, and a lentil soup. Yah, I know, lentil soup is a winter item, but I saw a recipe for it (with fresh grated ginger, and turmeric, and parsley) and it looked good. I will make it in the next couple days.

Have a good evening!
