Stars hopefully the new hearing aids will be a big improvement

NJ22 I've found as I've gotten older that mosquito bites itch less than they used to. Not sure about other types of bug bites

Dianah sounds like a productive day

Was a good and quiet day at work yesterday, nothing unexpected happened

After work went to a brew pub with the gay group, only half the people who signed up showed up. Beer was good, the food was OK

Today should not be a particularly busy day at work or after work.  And nothing in particular going on after work either, except for exercise and a few chores

Going to be a bit warmer today, in the mid 70s, with some rain expected

"Feels like" Saturday ?. 79 to 81 degrees, something like 67% humidity, no rain called for.  Sort of sunny, which I guess means partly cloudy, I took Tinker out and she dragged me around. When I came back in, I told Nannie that I wished we had a fenced yard so Tinker could be let out to run around. Of course she said 'what?' twice, so the third time I said it,  I. separated. all. the. words. so. she. could. understand. More attention deficit than hard of hearing, IMHO.

It may be 'one of those days' because this AM she did not recognize the spoon, the yogurt container, the bottle of BOOST, nor the table, nor the glass of cran-apple that is sitting on it. I had to show her what I meant when I said, "If you are through eating the yogurt, put the spoon down on the tray." Got a couple of "This?", "this?", and "this?" before I got up and put her spoon on the tray. And for some reason she feels obliged to show me the glass (an old jelly glass with 'cute' ducks on it) when it still has juice in it. I tell her to drink it. "What?" (OY!) "Finish your juice." Then she shows me she has already had an inch to drink, which puts the level of juice at the head of a certain duck; "drink more", and she takes another sip and points to the ducks tail-feathers. "Drink it ALL."

She also has to tell me where Tinker is, like, every other minute it is: "There's that dog.," Yup, she lives here and she follows me around all the time. "He just went upstairs." ......."But, Nannie, it's okay, SHE lives here and  just went up to get one of her toys." which she did....bring down the toy and up onto the sofa, whereupon she curled up, grunted, and I put her little blanket over her.  "He's pretty smart.".....//  "Yes, SHE is." I know she will never remember that Tinker is a girl, but *I* feel obliged to point that out she is not a boy. Like it even matters. Being oriented to reality is not one of the best understandings that a dementia patient can obtain..

Speaking of reality, I am still pretty foolish to expect her to be any 'better' or any different than she is getting to be. ?

Right now she has her eyes closed and is frowning ?, and her hands are wrapped up in the hem of her  jersey. She denies her hands are cold, says she just does it because she likes the way it feels.(Then she demonstrates how she does it, like I haven't seen it 100 times already,) Does not want a blanket laid over her hands. And I guess that means that my idea of putting mittens or gloves on her hands is out of the question.

SOMEDAY my posts will NOT be all-Nannie-all-the-time. I am so bored and irritated.......like you couldn't tell! And she has already started showing me the jersey (which I just put on her) that has a hem she can wrap her hands in, and amazingly, each sleeve goes all the way from her shoulders to her wrists. Aren't 'new' inventions in clothing (uh-huh) wonderful? But she does not seem to understand that the jersey is all of a piece, not four separate pieces! Oh well.

Over and out for now. Pray for rest of the day to be DULL! I know there won't be as much quiet as I crave, but here I am, where I put myself every single morning. So, I am NOT a SAINT; maybe kind of a martyr. Eeeeny-waiz, it is what it is.

New CG came by and met SiL here so Nannie and new CG can become acquainted. She will come on the 4th, then will be off the 11th, and then after that will work q Thurs. from 1:30 to 6:30. She is in her 20's or 30's and seems very nice. She will be a lot more patient with Nannie than I am, I'm sure. Six hours a week won't burn her out the way my 9 years here has burned ME out!

SiL brought her little young shih-tzu to meet Tinker, and Tink did not take it so well. After the initial sniff, Tinker growled loudly and jumped on the other dog's head and neck, so I grabbed Tinker and SiL grabbed her dog (  ? I cannot remember its name right now.) Anyway, SiL took her dog out to go around the yard for a little walk-and-pee time. Tinker stood at the glass door and growled and barked. Then when SiL came back in she held her dog and I held mine and things quieted down, except for Tinker still doing her low growl. I thought since Tinker is always cuddling up to SiL and BiL she would recognize the smell of their dog. Maybe ONE DAY they will be friends.....maybe Tinker will meet her again at SiL's house instead of on this home-territory, and she doesn't feel as threatened? I dunno. We'll see what we see when we see it (or don't).

4:45 and Nannie is just staring fixedly at her shoes. She is fighting dozing off, darn it! I am waiting a little bit before I take Tinker out to sniff that interloper-dogs footsteps and where she peed. Nannie always asks to "help" or go with me, but it would be a horror trying to walk Tinker on harness and leash, AND Nannie with her rollator, at the same time. They both move in different ways, one slowly, one FAST. I would probably be the one to fall. though, so that's why we all won't ever enjoy an amble outside together!

Time to take Tinker out again, and then it will be close to suppertime. I am already half starved since I didn't get my 'brunch' today. (pitiful!)

Later................

Well. well, well. Nannie sez that the baseball score being reported: Phillies 15, and Braves 4, is not true, because someone is lying about it,( I guess, 'pulling a tRUMP.')      I told her that they can not be jacking up the score falsely because the stands are full of hundreds and hundreds of people, it is also being broadcast on TV, and surely SOMEONE would call them on a lie that big!  Maybe we are all in a trance?

OK, I am really sorry (but not very)....I AM really going to try NOT to post again tonight.

G'day.

Work was busy and short staffed.  Shocking isn't it.

Off tomorrow.

Found out a coworker that retired a few years and then came out of retirement and retired again passed away.  He had a good sense of humor.  Odd thing was that he was gay but married to a woman that knew he was gay.  To each their own.

Hi. Quiet day, mid 70s. There were a few raindrops falling this morning, but dry and hazy now. We are getting smoke from wild fires in Canada moving into our area. I guess that is why I have a little dry cough. Youngest ds and I went for a short bike ride this morning, that felt pretty good. I helped dh with his weed control project at the demo gardens.

I came home and cleaned the kitchen floor and one of the bathrooms. Later, I was getting the dog's dinners ready and dropped a dish of kibble. I let them clean it up, but then had to re wipe the floor because it was coated in dog saliva. Yuck.

I watched a Netflix movie called the Thursday Murder Club that was cute. There was some humor along with solving the mystery. Helen Mirren is amazing.
