Thrush

My best friend has ovarian cancer and due to being very debilitated and numerous antibiotics she now has thrush. She had an allergic reaction to Nystatin and I wanted to call her doctor for Diflucan but she refused because she's afraid of another reaction. Has anyone had this happen and what did you do? She wanted to find out if there was any kind of home remedy for it but I told her that she needs an antifungal. TIA!!

Oh, the poor thing. Immuno suppression stinks.

You know, though, that we can't give medical advice, Sue.

Bless her heart, and Sue's response ("immuno suppression stinks") is SO right on!!

The medication question is one for OP's friend to take to her PCP or Oncologist, as it is beyond the scope of members of this site to offer medical advice, and the person in question would likely best benefit from receiving advice from her PCP.

Wishing OP's friend all the best, and as an aside, she's lucky to have such a caring friend.
