I love the tennis match this has become. I started here because I don't want to seem to be attacking or angry at any specific poster. I believe everyone who is participating in these threads has valad points and well as some not so valid. There is even the My Body, MY choice argument. Which implies a certain amount of freedom on the part of those making these decisions for themselves.

Speaking only about the United States now as I have no idea how other countries do things but part of the paroblem is that people in this counrty actually believe we are free. Americans have not been free since the first settler's came to our shores in search of religious freedom and promptly turned on those in their number who dared to have different spiritual practices. We have a long history of valuing  freedom at the cost of the lives and freedom of others. A few examples : The African, Slave trade. the programs of indentured servitude and let's not forget the program of extermination of the aboriginal people who were probably the last North Americans to be truely free.

There are meny things in today's American culture that attack our freedom. Free people should get to keep the money they make and not pay taxes. Recently there have been several large homeless encampments buldozed in Southern California. Don't these folk deserve to be free? I cannot refuse to educate my child (I wouldn't make that choice but the fact remains). I should as a Libertarian be able to live where I want, with whom I want and make my living however I want as long as I am not hurting other people.

An argument could be made that I don't want to have to live in a bunker, especially due to something that can be brought under control like COVID. ( bringing up COVID cause this is the COVID forum).
