I have a dumb question. My patient I had a few days ago had a thorocotomy on his right side. After the surgery, he was immediately sent to the ICU, where I got to do a few things, but then I had to leave. When I did my assessment, his right lung didn't sound right, but I don't know what it's called (the advantageous breath sounds). He had 2 chest tubes, and was on a nasal cannula. I didn't really have time to ask my nurse about the procedure, or what I should/shouldn't see, so can anyone help me out?
