Well the time has come and its this Saturday But I still feel I am not ready. I am still scoring in Saunders about 65-70% and in Kaplan online Qbank-60%. I just feel sick to my stomach and I am studying everything again. I just feel like I should reschedule and not take it now. Or should I take it and if I fail just take a review class or try Suzannes plan? I dont know do you guys think I am ready, I dont feel like I am ready, My grades in school were C's and I do have experience with patient care but I am not book smart and I know this test is about book smart. I dont know, I feel very insecure right now, I have already reschedule this will be my second time, I just feel like I letting too much time pass I graduated about 3months ago. What should I do, should I just take the test?

Dearest padistar,
There is no shame in admitting that you are not ready to take the NCLEX, yet. I think that is a smart move from your part to take a look at the areas which you need to get stronger in order to pass whenever you take it. If you are doing 65-70% in Saunders, it means you need to read the chapter, and then retest yourself again after you read the entire chapter...you'll see a remarkable improvement. you want to target to 85% or better. If you want to be a registered nurse, you must know that there is not short cuts about that specific goal you have set yourself to achieve. There is a Chinese saying which I believe in it wholeheartedly which says " The greater part of inspiration is perspiration." Meaning, if are inspired to achieve a lofty goal, you better work hard at it.
I heard that Suzanne is no longer in the capacity of moderator. I do not know who is taking over her responsibilities regarding her plan for helping students to pass the NCLEX. I wish the best to Suzanne wherever she went, but as for you, and I, it is up to us to use the tools we have at hand for reaching our personal goals. If you do not feel prepared to take the NCLEX, postpone it until after you feel good and ready to take it. It does not matter how many times you reschedule as long as you use your time wisely: to get stronger test skills and strategies, as well as a stronger knowledge content which is provided by that book Saunders you have. I have rescheduled myself four times or even more...I do not care about as long how many times I have to reschedule as I feel good and ready to pass next time I take the NCLEX. Best wishes to you! feliz3

Test when you are ready. I tested several months after I graduated. Take a break . Too much stress and you won't be able to retain as much as you would otherwise. Set aside time each day and commit to it. Also find time to take care of yourself, rest, eat right get fresh air and exercise. It's a fine balance. Most of all have faith in yourself. You did graduate from nursing school which is an accomplishment in itself. You can do this.

i think you should just take a deep and relax and focus,am kinda in the same boat as you are, though i did not do saunders review i heared its a great tool,am doing just kaplan and my scores are so far okay i guess but the whole content thing just freaks me out,and nclex is just next week, try to relax and if you still freaking out,pls reschedule cos from what i have read you have to be calm and rested when you step in the booth so you can focus and answer questions.i personally dont do good in test under anxiety, each time i did qbank or question trainer and am strexed i do badly,so pls try to relax,we will pass, stay positive
Thanks for giving me great advice, you guys and voicing your concerns it means alot and even though we dont know each other all of us here connect some way or another thanks.I guess I am just nervous and I need to relax but the sad thing is well to make things worse my boss said if I dont pass I dont have a job as of now I am hired as a graduate nurse but yeah he has put me in alot of pressure. But you know I think I will just do some pilates and stretch before or run this kind of helps me too. Anyways I wish you guys the best in your nursing career thanks again. Ps He gave me a deadline and I am running out of time and I really cant afford a budget cut, but I will try my best as for now I will continue to study questions on kaplan and Saunders. Thank I will keep you guys up to date. I feel better now.

i feel like im in the same boat with you. I want to reschedule my NCLEX again too! My Hogan and Saunders scores are between 65-85 and then I have my Kaplan scores between 55-77%. I was a B average student. I have a lot of anxiety and I am trying to learn how to relax and just focus on being a better test taker. Good luck.
When are you testing xj3nnerz?

I think your Kaplan scores are great.. My kaplan Q-bank average scores was 50-65%, while my final Q-trainer was 55%.
Before the test i was so anxious too and so scared to fail coz i know i am really not ready to take the test yet.
but guess what, I passed!! 75 Q's, first try.:nmbrn:
Believe in yourself.. You can do it!:yelclap:
i think heaven sent is right, you should try and relax and dont panic cos i have heared that kaplan questions are harder than the real exam,i think that no matter how you read and memorize,if you not relaxed you cant make it.i did read of a nurse who said she paniced so hard that she forgot the s/s of dehydration!!!! can u imagine what this crazy fellow called panic can do to people like us!!! am freaking out too,but ech time it happens i think good thots and keep saying to my self 'you will pass' then i stalk this web site somemore and read all the positive threads i can find, especially those related to kaplan who passed even with low qbank scores, whih to be honest i dont thin are low cos pple are passing with them.just like heavensent88 just said.
goodluck.when are you suppose to test?

I agree with most of the posts. Don't rush yourself.... If you are not ready do not take the test. But keep in mind you will never feel completely ready! Just keep studying the areas you struggle with and once you feel comfortable with those areas and feel that you are more prepared for the test then that is when you should take it.
i take mines on march 12. so i got couple more days. i am just doing a lot of questions. i try to do 200+ a day. i know the content, i mean i pass nursing school . im just a crappy test taker. I just need to take my time to look at the questions and recognize the right answer. I get test anxiety too.
when do you take yours?
