The Motivation Thread!

I wanted to create a thread that would bring all the nurses ( LVN's and RN's) and everyone in the nursing field to give a little motivation as to why people should get into the nursing field.

For example, I myself am very interested in doing this and most likely I will, but I feel like there are some blocks that are in front of me that keep me unsure and not 100% motivated. Ive heard that it is intense, but I want to break those blocks and be 110% motivated!

So all i ask is if anyone can give their piece of mind about their experience/lifestyle as a nurse and why others should get into it would really be fantastic and you will definitely give a helping hand. I very much appreciate your guys courtesy and anticipation. All thoughts are welcomed. :D:D:up:

You're right...it IS intense but for me it is 100% worth it! I love knowing that the actions I take have a profound effect on the lives of the people I come into contact with. I especially love that I get to pass on knowledge to my patients that helps make their lives better...

Good luck to you!

Awesome. ANy more?

I love when I know I've actually made a difference to someone.

I'm making $46 an hour as an agency nurse! That motivates me!

-making a difference and doing something really meaningful with my time

-the sense of accomplishment I feel when I stop and remember how many obstacles I overcame to reach my goal of becoming a nurse, how hard I worked for it, and how long I wanted so badly to be a nurse

-being the sole provider for my family, and being able to give them a life in a comfortable home, with the things they need and food on the table.

-the sense of pride I feel every time I get to say I'm a nurse

- the fact that I have a job that challenges me and keeps me learning and growing
