First I'd like to wish all of my fellow new nurses a happy first Thanksgiving as a nurse. Since this is our first thanksgiving as professionals in a new career, I'd like to add some gratitude to my attitude which can use a little polishing at the moment. Although this first year as an RN has been tough going, I can certainly be thankful for many things. I'm grateful for a fresh start. Grateful that I don't shake at the thought of programming an IV pump. Grateful that I don't break into a sweat when giving that Lovenox injection. Happy that I can add those two letters RN at the end of my name. Happy that this first year is nearly over. OH YEAH!! Glad that that feeling of dread and doom is gone when coming on shift. Happy that I am proud to call myself RN despite all the adversities. Most of all, I'm grateful to have learned that nursing is diverse and if one niche isn't right for me, there's always another. It's all part just part of the plan.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!:nuke:
