what textbook do you use?

Alright,

I hate my textbook. It's Lippincott's Fundamental's of Nursing..

I feel like there is so much filler and not enough information.

Does anyone else use this and do you hate it as much as I do?/? So frustrating with this book.

We use Rosdahl's "Textbook of Basic Nursing", also by Lippincott. I actually like it, for the most part. It tends to break things down and uncomplicate them, which is nice for people like me with little to no medical background.

On the flip side, Memmler's "Structure and Function of the Human Body" (also published by Lippincott) seemed to overcomplicate the issues at times. There are still sections that I read through and don't understand...

Sorry you're not happy with your book. Can you supplement it with something a little deeper?

Potter & Perry. Lots of typos and long, multiple-comma sentences, making it a bit unwieldy. It's well organized but not particularly consistent in the ways it explains things upon return to them. Overall it's fine, I guess, but I have nothing to compare it with.

Potter & Perry... I find it very repetitive... We have like 14 other books but the only one we are really using right now is P&P.

We're using Kozier & Erb's Fundamentals of Nursing. I quite like it, and it has its own study guide with oodles of NCLEX-style questions and rationales to pick through.

We use kozier as well, it is my favorite of the many books we use. i HATE our brunner med/surg book

We also use Kozier & Erb's Fundamentals of Nursing. I like the text...only wish they included more stuff in the index.

Same here!

Could someone post P&P's ISBN number. This is the book that I'm going to use, but the bookstore is out of stock and won't give me the number over the phone. It's $450 for that one book! EEEP!

Fundamentals of Nursing, Corrected - With CD, DVD, and Study Guide

Required • Edition: 7TH 09 • Potter, Patricia A.

ISBN: 9780323067911

But it's only $175 from our store so make sure it's right.
