Texas Tech RN to BSN Program

I'm applying to the RN to BSN program for TT in the Spring of 2013. I would like to hear from current students and recent graduates. I'm wanting to see if it's possible to work full-time. I also wanted to see if anyolne has been able to complete the program early.

Thanks :nurse:

I got mine too! How awesome. Congrats nohands! Yes, hopefully we can do the orientation online. $100 to accept though, that stings a bit. But I'm so happy about finally being accepted I don't even care. Sign me up for extra night shifts!

Congrats to you too, yeah hopefully that 100 dollar fee is applied toward tuition or something.

Yea I got accepted as well. Congrats to the both of you. The 100 is separate from tuition. So extra shifts it is lol. Beginning spring 2013 no more trips to Lubbock. Orientation is online for us. Im excited to start this process. Fingers crossed for everyone else!

I got my acceptance today but apparently we have to submit our fingerprints to the board of tx. I am little confused because they asked for my ssn# for a background check. We also get fingerprinted before initial rn license by the bon.....ugh now i have to get a day off to get this done!

I think the email says that if your licensed and have the blue card that says you're clear you don't have to take finger prints again. You just send a copy of it.

Hi everyone congratulations on your acceptance, i began the program in August an so far its good and I have nothing bad to say about it. We have a total of 10 classes which are divided into 2 classes every 5 weeks which is doable and you have ample time to meet your deadline. I work full time and have a two year old. I have never had the need to call in at work because of school. The assignment are straight forward. The papers are APA format most of them are at least/at most 300 - 500 words long depending on your instructor. So welcome. I expect to be done by march 2013. So for those that will begin in January may be you will be done by end of July.

Hi RNmage,

Thanks for giving us some imput. I have a few questions if you have time to answer I would appreciate it. Are the assignments mainly papers, if so did you use any kind of APA software? Are all the books on the list needed? If not, which ones are not? Is tuition due before admission or do they do installments or if applying for a studnet loan would you happen to know if disbursement date is before 1st day of class? Thanks and congrats on almost finishing!!!

@ Fesgovia, our financial aid and student loans were disbursed before classes began, they offer payment plans too. Most of the books are required especially for legal and ethics, evidence, Leadership, and issues & trends I did not use one in nursing theory, the assignments are mainly short papers so far. I have not used an APA software but I know some people who are using it and it works well for them.

Good luck

got accepted a few days ago wooo hooo , sooo happy :)))))

congrats to everyone else that got accepted best wishes :))))))

Has anyone gotten the email for orientation modules yet?
