Testing

HI everyone,

I am going to be taking the pre-entrance exam for the LPN program in Feb. I asked my advisor what was going to be on the test and she said;grammar, math, and reading. And then I asked her what to study, she tells me there is nothing really for me to study. So, I am asking, do any of you have any advice for me on what for me to be familiar with. Or how to study for this test. Again, this is a test just for me to get into the LPN program.

LVN is a Licensed vocational Nurse same thing but thats what some states refere LPN's too

as for studing she is right either you know it or you don't,but there are NET tests books out there once you look thru it will all come back to you,my hardest was math and comp.

there will be no nursing math so don't worry because thats something you learn in school....

What type of test is it? TEAS or NET? Either way you should study and like mum2mykidz say there are books you can purchase to help prepare you? I took the NET and found it to have a lot of fractions and decimals and the there was a reading comprhension test as well. Good Luck on the test!

I did use a study guide that was helpful in getting me in the groove. It is largely just what you already know but never hurts to refresh. Good luck!

What is a LVN?

LVN = Licensed Vocational Nurse

LPN = Licensed Practical Nurse

LPNs and LVNs are the exact same type of nurse. The only difference is that California and Texas refer to their basic nurses as 'LVNs' while the other 48 states use the title of 'LPN.' For some reason, CA and TX absolutely do not use the 'LPN' title.

I have LPN/LVN licensure in California, Texas, and Oklahoma. I live and work in Texas, so my official title is 'LVN.' However, my title would automatically change to 'LPN' if I were living and working in Oklahoma.
