Test Anxety

So I have really bad test anxeity when I take my tests. I was so worked up for my med-surg test that i ended up only being 4 points away from passing. Dose anyone have any good tips to help relieve it?

The cake: Study enough well ahead of time that you don't feel the need to cram.

The icing: Get a good night's sleep. Follow the morning routine that you are comfortable with that day regarding breakfast, coffee, etc. Get there early enough to chill/relax/take deep breaths/meditate/visualize yourself doing well for a few minutes.

I had the same problem in med surg..I happend to say it in front of my psych professor (we take psych and med surg together)..her advice worked big time..she told me to never ever go to school the day of the test early, and if i have to go in early to just stay in the car and go over some last minute note cards etc..y? because most of your classmates are already in school chit chatting about the test and content..this probably releases the most anxiety/confusion ever!! and of course I did not realize it until I waited 5 minutes before the test time to walk in one day and landed a high grade. :)

I have the same problem, but am able to decrease the anxiety by breathing techniques and taking the exam backwards.

Exercise..... Even if you only have 15 minutes, do something that makes you break a sweat. It would be better if you went for a fast walk/run for 30 minutes. You'll get some of those good natural brain drugs that will help you relax and focus.

Nice ideas!! I need to do this. I am in pediatrics rotation and had ******* nightmares before my last exam and didn't sleep much at all...
