Well A&P 1 starts tomorrow night. I am terrified as all get out. Its all I've been thinking about for the last week. I took a speech class second summer term with many students who'd already had A&P, and they basically spent the entire term telling me horror stories.......so yeah. This one is a weed out class at my school, and the teacher I have is new to the school, so I dont know anything about her. A new teacher, IMO, can go one of 2 ways..........A) since its her first time teaching, she may be a little easier on us, or B) its her first time teaching, so she will feel like she has something to prove. I did chem over the summer and LOVED it and got an A, and Im fairly good with memory. The one advantage I have is that I am familiar with the Latin. My 11th grade English teacher made us learn all the latin and greek roots, which while annoying at the time, I am quietly singing his praises for now :)

From the sound of it, you're going to breeze through this class. I, too have a good language background and so I find it easy to memorize., which in my opinion is pretty much what this class is about. We just had our first test on Chapters 1-4 and it was no big thing! Don't listen to the hype, just stay caught up on the reading and memorizing and you'll be great!

You will be just fine!!!! I'm not going to lie and say it's easy, but it's intersesting so you won't mind the hard work. Just stay on top of it, read your notes, make flash cards, etc., and you will make it through with flying colors! I panicked about A&P as well, but I just studied my tush off and got A's in A&P I and II...and I'm no genius. Good luck and you can do it!!!!

My A&P 1 class started last week. I have the same instructor I had for biology so I'm already familiar with her teaching style and what to expect. No surprises. You'll do fine as long as you do what you have to do.

Don't use the word "terrified". Substitute "motivated". Sounds a lot more accurate :)
Its not a walk in the park, but it sounds like you have a good foundation for it. Work hard, study hard and you will be fine!

I think you'll be fine. The Latin will be a huge help. If you were able to get an "A" in chemistry, you'll do great.

You will do just fine. In my humble opinion Chemistry was harder. Plus I really had the sense I would need A&P more, so I was motivated to learn it.
I had to dissect an actual cadaver, which I am told not many schools have. That was a little disturbing, but I got through it and it is true that many of the things you learn in A&P you will need to know for Pathophysiology.
Best of luck to you.
Take care,
Jean
