So what is the Texas BON regulation of nurses who got terminated from their job? REently I was terminated for misplacing a deciminal in a physician order but correct dose was given and also I dc'd picc when I'm not suppose to. Now Im worried that im going to be reporte to BON and possibility of discipinary action.

If I'm not mistaken, not all terminations are automatically reported to the Texas BON.

Agree with Commuter RN..Another concern, tho, is being listed in Group One "no hire" list
..lots of posts/threads on this subject..check them out so you know what you may be up against. I have supervised many nurses who made worse mistakes that this and did not terminate them..did your employer just terminate you outright without offering retraining, specific time frame probation, or the like? This seems very harsh.

Were you subjected to Peer Review as part of the termination process? You should have been... this is mandatory for any places that have >10 nurses employed. According to our rules & regs, if an employer takes substantive action due to a nurse's professional behavior, it has to be reported. Termination is definitely substantive behavior. However, the BON may determine that the facility already took appropriate action and nothing more needs to be done.
