TEAS V TEST!

Published

What was the most challenging section? What particularly did you find difficult?

Purchased ATI study guide, but just recently heard that Codon Charts will be on the TEAS, which isn't in the study book.

Oddly enough, the science part. I kicked butt in my science pre reqs, 2 A's and 1 B. My school did not require that we take chemistry of any sort, so imagine my surprise when about 85% of my test was chemistry, When I talked to the other ladies, they were all equally surprised too.

Science was the hardest to me. I studied the science section for 2 weeks and scored a 91, so its manageable.

Science was the most difficult section for me as well. I did find numerous items on the test that were not in the ATI book. I suggest reviewing your notes from your various science classes. And yes, there was a codon chart and questions concerning transcription and translation. The best advice that I can give for the science portion is: DO NOT RELY ONLY ON THE ATI BOOK!

I took the ATI online practice test. It was worth it! The format is exactly like the actual test. I then reviewed any unfamiliar information by referring back to my A&P and Gen Bio books and notes. Also, the following thread was extremely helpful:

It was pretty spot on with what to expect. Be sure to review all of the systems. The ATI book only gives you a brief overview of the information that will be covered.

For me it was definitely Science! Which was surprising because I did very well in all my science classes and felt like it was going to be the easiest for me. There's just so many things to study for so it's hard to know it all. I thought math would be my weak spot but did the best in it. I studied for 2 months and used 3 different books and honestly I felt like none of them were anything like the real test. When I finally took the test I felt very confidant but as I was taking it, the entire time I was thinking WTH is this!? It was nothing as I expected. What I found the most difficult was the amount of information you have to brush up on, learn, and remember. My best advice is to take several months learning as much as possible and take it twice if your school allows it. The first time will give you a good idea of what to study for the second go around. goodluck!

For me the science has been the hardest on the practice tests. I have never heard of codons being on the test. It's a little more basic than that. Just a heck of a lot of chemistry. I will be getting chemisry for dummies and be brushing up on that. I noticed a lot of anatomy and a little micro.

Definitely the science! I had random earth science questions on mine that I didn't know. The math is very basic and only covers what is in ATI review book. The Reading and English are fine. I recommend just doing as many review questions for those as you can. The test is very similar to the ATI review and if you do a lot of questions and look at the rationales you'll start to notice a lot of patterns.
