When Ive taken the practice tests in the back of the ATI study manual I get a score ranging from 75-79, I took the ATI online practice test last night (version A) and I received an 42% overall score for science . I got an A in AP last sem and Im taking micro right right and getting a 97.3..but I scored so low! Ive actually been scoring low on math in the book tests and on the online I scored an 80..i found the math to be a lot easier but the science to be unreal.
In your experience is the science portion more like the online tests, the back of the book tests or somewhere in the middle?
my TEAS V test in monday so Im pretty concerned. My composite score for the online test was a 71 but for my school I must get a 58 in every section including sub sections...so I would of failed with my science score.

I had the same experience with the math section – scoring really low on the practice test and then getting high 80s on the real thing. I think the book was definitely more aligned with the actual test than the online assessment. I think it has something to do with scoring as well.
As for science, I do not think you can just study what is in the book and expect to do well on the actual test, UNLESS you have taken general chemistry, biology and A&P. You must have some foundation in these subjects. The questions included all these topics and a few other random ones.
I would refresh my memory on the basics of chemistry (periodic table stuff especially, balancing equations, properties of elements, etc), plant biology. If you’ve had A & P I/II recently, you will do fine on those questions. There were some scientific research experiment questions, as well. Just review the basics.
Bottom line, I think if you review all those things, you’ll be fine. There are enough different types of questions that you should be able to get a good score, even if you’re weak in one area. Good luck!
I have taken chem,AP, biology, and Im currently taking microbiology...I got A's in all except chem which I got a C in. Thats why I do not understand why Im having such a hard time with the online science test...I score fine on the science test in the ATI study guide. I scored low in all areas of the science portion of the online test.

I will be taking Microbiology when it is time for me to take the TEAS test. Does anyone know what I need to know from Micro on the test so I can make sure to learn that?

I am currently taking Micro while studying for the TEAS Test. I got my Micro syllabus and it mentions that we will go over the cell(the two different types) and its parts, which are detailed in the TEAS Study Guide. I also think that certain processes such as transcription and translation will be detailed with this course which will help us with the TEAS.
I am looking forward to the extra help this class can give me for the TEAS Test.

Thanks so much for the info. I am currently taking A&P right now and we are learning about Cells, transcription and translation. I guess they go over it again in Micro.
