Hi! I just signed up here a couple days ago - pretty cool site:)
I have finished my prereqs for nursing school and turned in a couple apps already - but there is another nursing school I had decided not to apply this time around because they do some of their lectures online and I don't really like the online format for learning important subjects. Well, anyway - now the closing date for that school is coming up and I thought maybe I should just apply - i'd rather get in there then have to wait another 6 months. The only thing is they require the TEAS test (the other 2 schools don't require it until you are accepted. Anyway...I can't seem to find a testing site - they are all full....wah!
It's so hard to work towards something only to have to wait...

Which ones have you tried? Keep checking back, because as people cancel their reservations spots may come available. The only two places I know of in Sac are at Sac State and at the Sutter Center for Health Professions.
And no, I'm not psychic...I just saw your post regarding the Sutter program, so I'm assuming you're in Sac. Being psychic would come in handy though since I'm in the application process, too!
Good luck!

Are you willing to travel a bit? http://www.testing.csueastbay.edu/nursing/nursteasinfo.php shows a testing session on September 26 in Concord.
Jess - thank you so much for the Concord option! My husband actually found that testing site last night - but I have prior obligations tomorrow afternoon with my sister-in-law and I'm pretty sure I'd never live it down if I cancelled. I guess too, part of it is I am just hoping (hopefully not beyond hopes!) that I get in at one of my other 2 college choices. I think I am just going to go with these 2 and if I don't get in for Spring then I will have 4 colleges to apply for in the Spring....although the thought of not starting nursing school until Fall of 09 is just very depressing for me :grn:
Polka-dot - I will check back though - if there is a cancellation, I would run up there and do it this minute!

I just have a quick question for those of you that have taken the teas exam more than once. I just took the test for the 4th time about 2 weeks ago and the version of the test was totally different than the last 3 times I took it. I noticed while looking at my results that the first three tests were version 2.0 and this last one I took was version 3.0. Has anyone taken the 3.0 version recently or ever? I was just wondering if the I school I took it at just recently switched to a new version or perhaps they switch off from the 2.0 to the 3.0 between tests. So, for example, this last test I took was 3.0 so the next time I take it (on Oct 2) will be the 2.0. Just wondering if anyone else has had this experience. Thanks!
Why do you have to take the teas test so often? I thought once you took it and passed that was it?
most of the schools I am applying to have high standards for the Teas score. The highest I have gotten is 85.9% which isn't enough. So I keep taking it as often as I can to make sure I get a 90+.

Wow... that's crazy! Isn't there a limit on how many times you can take that stupid test? At my school, we get 2 chances only.

Im in the same situation! Well, kinda - i just tooke the test, but i had to scramble to get in. There is a test date at Sac state on Thurs Oct 2ND - i called the director and they told me to just show up on the test day and hope someone else doesnt show and you can take their place. Well i took her advice and went to the Chico yesterday and got in - like 10 people didnt even show up that were registered. But, depending on my results i may still go to Sac - so nerve wracking!!! Good luck to you!
ya, I am registered to take the TEAS on the 2nd at Sac State.... So nervous that this is last time to take the test before my apps are due! Let's pray for a good score!
I know! So scary! I have a quick question: i think i read that you were applying to SCC and ARC - i am also. I was about to send my application and i noticed the part where it says Counselors Signature Required. . i am not from the area, did you have to make an appt with a counselor, or can you just walk in? Its a good 3 hour drive for me, so i gotta make sure i do it right! and i just spoke with someone at the nursing department - she was grumpy! lol im sure this is a busy time of year:banghead:
sorry I am applying to CSUS not SCC and I'm not applying to ARC.. Sorry... I only applied to 7 CSU campuses no community college's, so I am of no help ;/
