HUGE difference.

The TEAS is a test of essential academic skills. It tests you on fundamental reading, grammar, mathematics, and science. It is given at a lot of colleges as part of your application process TO nursing school.

The NCLEX- RN are the boards. This is the test you must pass to become an RN. This tests you on everything you have learned in nursing school- about nursing...dosage, assessments, labs, critical thinking, pharmacology, pathophysiology, planning, interventions, etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc

you would take a teas exam as part of the application process to be accepted into a nursing school. you would take the nclex after completing nursing school and in order to become a licensed rn or lpn in whatever state you live. you would not be able to legally work as an rn or lpn without first taking and passing the nclex exam.

math covers whole numbers, metric conversion, fractions, decimals, algebraic equations, percentages, and ratio/proportion

reading covers paragraph comprehension, passage comprehension, and inferences/conclusions

english covers knowledge of punctuation, grammar, sentence structure, contextual words and spelling

science covers science reasoning, science knowledge, biology, chemistry, anatomy and physiology, basic physical principles and general science
