Boostrix vs adacel? Why you give one versus the other? Dr. Said he was putting in a tetorifice shot so I went and gave the boostrix but then he ordered adacel?

How old is the patient? If older than 65, only one is approved. If between 10-65, then they're the same and it doesn't matter.

Yep, Adacel is for ages 10-64. Boostrix is for ages 10 and up, so anyone 65+ should get Boostrix because they are outside the range of Adacel. Did you ask your physician why one vs the other? This will likely be flagged as a med error since what was given didn't match the order; I would have asked the physician to modify the order if appropriate since you gave the one that will work for all ages.
She was in her 60s. Not sure of the exact age. Now that I took back it says Adacel for latex allergy pts only. She didn't have a latex allergy though..

Correction: Adacel pre-filled syringes have a latex rubber stopper. The vials have a latex free cap.
