I went to renew my RN lic. in my home state. There is a "hold" on my lic due to owing State taxes. Now my lic. has just expired. Can I get a lic. in another state without having a current lic. anywhere? I had a lic. in another state before but didn't think I'd need it so it too has expired. I was told that I could re-instate the 2nd lic. but will they require I have a current lic. in my home state? In other words, I've got to find somewhere or some way to get a lic. to work...anywhere, until I can pay my taxes in my home state.
Thanks for your help.

Sounds like you have to pay your taxes or work out a plan with the state. Sorry no work around.

You can apply in another state without having active license in original state.. BUT.. there will be a question on there about having been suspended/revoked/refused in any other state licenses before, so you'll have to fess up. You should pay your taxes.
What a great idea by the state!

This is the reason why states want your SSN, it is there way of gaining income. You can't work in your home state without a license so the only way is to pay your taxes or make arrangements for payment.

This is info we can't provide. Please contact the BON in the states you want to get licensed in and they can answer your questions. Thanks.
