What you could probably do is group meds together and study them by classes. Some that you need to pay particular attention to is the cardiac meds and meds for any major system. Also brush up on your caculation skills. I don't know where you are taking your boards, but I took my at a Sylvan center and they had a dry erase board with a marker that you could use to figure out your calculations. Good look and I hope that this helps.
You will be fine. Take a deep breath, remember you have lots of people rooting for you and that includes me. I was there 7 years ago, I remember it well.

My school taught us that if you're looking at side affects always go with N/V!!
Go with your gut! If your first instinct is answer A, then go with it. I had a few meds that I didn't recognize on my NCLEX, so I just went with my first instinct. I passed in 75 ques.
Good Luck!!

i'm going to take my 2nd attempt 2 weeks from now and although i learned more, i still don't think it's enough since i tend to over analyze most of the time and sometimes no idea.
i learned from my prof. a technique to become familliar with meds is to check the suffix or near the last part. although it's not 100% reliable since there's a gazillion of meds out there and still counting, i can say it's 60-70% reliable which is not bad since we need every ounce of help. when you familliarize the suffix or near the last part, you will know it's category and just master eveything on the drug category (function, side effect, adverse reaction, etc).
e.g.
amikaCIN, gentamiCIN, amoxiCillIN = antibiotic
aspirIN, heparIN, coumadIN, warfarIN = anticoagulant
lol = beta blockers
I take the Exam November 5th. I thought after I failed the first time that it would be enough time between, but I am freaking out. I'm so nervous to fail twice. I feel like there's this huge weight on my shoulders. It really needs to be lifted!

hi dlawton, ill be taking my exam on nov 12.. i hate how quick time goes by.. and i just hate feeling so overwhelmed.. there are days when i don't do anything(just keeping it cool and not trying to stress myself).. and this past few days of feeling so burnout, i didnt study, it made me feel so guilty.. so i made a list of what to do.. and i know i just have to keep my eyes on the price.. just focus.. especially meds or areas of weakness.. you can overcome it! goodluck to the both of us! failing is not an option for us.. we're gonna pass this!!!!
Thanks stefano,
I know exactly how you feel. If I take a day or two off from studying. I feel guilty too. But sometimes I think I need that. Studying is all I do anymore and I feel just like you ... burntout. Good luck. let us know how it goes.
