TABE TEST......

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hello everyone,

I was wondering, if anyone had any UPDATED information on the TABE test?

Also I am trying to get into Delta College "LPN" program and the TABE test is required; I'm scheduled to take it this week please somebody anybody PLEASE give me advise... The scores needed are English and reading 12.0 and Math 11.9... Thanks

I took the TABE test last year and the math is exactly like the study guide. On the reading comprehension section, I didn't pass, but may be because of it being a timed test. Its an estimate of one minute a question. Get a copy of the study guide. Time yourself..practice. I've found one at the library.

Hi Tasha,

Thanks for the response! Also were you able to use a calculator?

I took the TABE test back in 2004, so I have no updated information.

However, it assesses the test taker's basic skills in topics and concepts that nursing programs expect students to have mastered in high school. The '12' score required in the reading comprehension translates into a 12th grade reading level. The '11.9' score required in the math section translates into 11th grade level math plus nine months.

I decided to go on with my University ADN program for 2015 and I am on a local college lpn waiting list for this fall as an Alternate but they cant let me know where I stand on the list!!! which I think is crazy! But the other program cost way too much the local colleges are like 15,000$ cheaper!

No calculator. And congrats on your journey at the University :)

Hey, I know

It's been 2 years, but I wanted to know did you end going to delta or the university?? I'm looking to start at delta in January but of course I have to take the Tabe test. If you already took the Tabe test at delta, any tips or suggestions on passing the test??
