I just finished taking the TEAS. I haven't gotten my test results back yet but, I do not feel confident about the science portion. Does anyone have any advice on how to improve in this area? Any online places to look at? I do have the ATI guide. I don't feel like the Science is anything you can really study for, but I thought maybe someone else might have a suggestion. I have been out of school 20+ years, so the science is all ancient history for me. Now, if it were A&P only, I think I'd do great. But there was only 1 question in that area!
Also, how long did it take to get your results? Mine said they were blocked until my institution looked at them. GRR....

I take the TEAS on 2/16, the ATI study guide didn't help you with the science portion? What type of questions did you get? I just scheduled a 2nd date to take it in case I completely bomb the first time. This is making me nervous!
Well.. I don't feel the guide helped me much in the area of science. Everything else was right on. The science was set up pretty much the same way as the guide. The problem is if you don't know it or have an understanding of the concepts ie., I never ever have taken chemistry or physics that is what most of my questions were on. I did not have even the basic knowledge really of those concepts. Even though there were only 30 questions I almost ran out of time. I expected that in math but not the science.
I'm going to go ahead and get another test scheduled for in a month. Even if I surprise myself by doing better than I expect I figure I might as well give myself a chance to do better.
Good luck to you!!

hi, i'm scheduled to take my teas test 02/25 and i'm totally freakin!
i go to ivy tech and the test at my campus is done on a computer. they said we get our scores as soon as were done. as far as acceptance to the program, we were told we would receive a letter by the end of march. the top 50 applicants are accepted to the lpn program here.

I posted on your thread a little bit about my experience.
I go to Ivy Tech too. I took mine on computer, but I did not get my results immediately. They said it might be a couple of weeks that they would send it. I keep looking on the ATI site hoping it will show up, but it says that my intsitution blocked the results and as soon as they receive them my results will show up.
Which campus are you at?
I'm competing for 1 of 20 spots in a part-time ASN program. It will be the first time the traditional ASN will be offered at my school.
Good Luck!!! Hopefully you will have better luck with the science portion.
advice...just keep an eye on the countdown so you don't run out of time :)
so when you were done, your score's in each section did not show on the screen?
i did hear the science portion was awful. did you use the ati study manual to prepare?
Is each section timed or do you have 4 hours to complete the whole test? I can't wait to take this test and have it over and done.
each section is timed separately.
Yes, I used the manual to study. I just didn't find it helpful for the science portion. The maunal was very helpful in all the other areas though.
I'm in Logansport btw :) No it didn't show any scores just said it was blocked. The proctor said I would get my results in a couple of weeks.
from what i hear each section is timed. there are 40 q's in reading, 45 in math (55 minutes to complete) 30 in science and 55 q's in english and language usage. i know you only get like a minute and a half to complete each math problem or you'll run out of time! :omy:
good luck!!!!

Does anyone have suggestions on which review books to use to prepare? I'm finding the physics to be the most difficult - I've never taken physics in my life!!
the most common book is from ati (assessment technologies institute). this book is the official pre-test study manual for the teas test because they are the makers of the test! the book contains material for each of the subject areas, practice tests and answer keys, and a comprehensive test and answer key.
you can purchase it off their website www.atitesting.com for about $35.00, or try to rent it at your local library. it's on waiting list at my library right now because they only have 1. fortunatley, i bought my from the website and i received it fairly quickly. i think the piece of mind is well worth the money!
most people agree it does help prepare them for the test.
no, i don't work for them! good luck, i take my test the 25th!!
