Does anyone have any new ideas on subject recruitment. Our site uses our clinic database, our database of past subjects, newspaper advertising, flyers, and e-mails. All of this is minimaly affective.

Has your clinic tried radio ads? What about a website? You can be listed with Centerwatch or some of the other clinical trials websites. Sometimes, the hard work and effort you put forth may only get 1 or 2 eligible subjects. Just the nature of the beast. Best of luck!
We do have a web site, and mostly we get healthy volunteers. I am really interested in radio, and hope to do that with the next study, we have been a little reluctant to try and get something like that through our IRB but I think we really need to give it a try. Have you every tried blanket direct mailings? I heard that sometimes they are as affective as newspaper ads?

We have not done blanket mailings..only mailings to local primary docs. We get a lot of responses from ads placed in little local "health" papers (mostly advertisments for area doctors) that patients are stuck with reading in their doctor's office.

I have a question...why do hospitals post positions when there are no positions actually available? I responded to one and was very disappointed to find out it was a "ghost" position to draw nurses from out-of-state to check the hospital out.
I have to work out-of-town because of this. The public see and hear these ads and wonder why I can't find work in my own city!
