We do have a web site, and mostly we get healthy volunteers. I am really interested in radio, and hope to do that with the next study, we have been a little reluctant to try and get something like that through our IRB but I think we really need to give it a try. Have you every tried blanket direct mailings? I heard that sometimes they are as affective as newspaper ads? Charlott
Does anyone have any new ideas on subject recruitment. Our site uses our clinic database, our database of past subjects, newspaper advertising, flyers, and e-mails. All of this is minimaly affective. Charlott
I agree that a year of M/S nursing will give you a great background. Something you could do in the mean time is get acquainted with some of the terminology of research. It will help you to be able to talk the talk. Research is full of accronyms that are very confusing. You might check out the Association of Clinical Research Professional (ACRP) they have classes, but they are very expensive. Also, typing in clinical research coordinator and doing a search might give you some training programs. NIH has a free course of the protection of human subjects which talks alot about consenting proceedures. Hope that helps. Charlott
