stupid question...

this is a stupid question, but i'm pretty desperate. i'm registering for a nurse aid training program (hopefully) but i have to get the two step tb test first. i'm getting the first part tomorrow...but how long do i really have to wait to get the second one? i'm kind of in a time pinch. i've read that you have to wait 10 to 14 days but i was told by someone at the ltc that i only have to wait 7. anyone know for sure?? thanks!

I saw something about this lately that said you have to wait seven days. I took it a couple of years back and took each one seven days apart. Don't remember where I saw the info.

The form that the school requires your doctor to fill out and sign should indicate this. Mine (which I just did last month) was 7 days from the first one. But check with the school requirement to be safe. HTH!

Hi Change,

I do not think your question was stupid at all. We don't learn if we don't inquire.

After the first test reading, a second TB skin test can be administered within a 7 to 14 day window. Another site is used and checked within the 48 and 72 hour time frame for results.

Hope this helped.
