Study tips for GI disorders

Published

Sooooooo our professors thought by rushing through the material, to get one day off so we can study will pay off

nuh uh.

We have a cumulative final, in a week. Still have to finish elimination, just finished neurological disorders exam last thursday. So yeah stress level is at its peak.

With all that said

Anyone have any words of advice on things such as

Hiatal hernias, diverticulitis, pancreatitis, cholecystitis peptic ulcer disease

The list continues, but anything from those will be much appreciated

Maybe a mnenomic, or memory trick. something. Thanks in advance, my class thanks you too lol

i would have paid closer attention to the syllabus and been prepared for this to have happened. nursing school is not like high school where you can forget about what doesn't get covered by the end of the school term. i would have been asking, "are we going to be getting gi lectures before the final exam? the time is closing in pretty fast."

you can get a list of the signs, symptoms, causes and treatment for many medical diseases on family practice notebook (use search box and input a disease) http://www.fpnotebook.com/index.htm. you can find the pathophysiology in the merck manual of diagnosis and therapy http://www.merck.com/mrkshared/mmanual/sections.jsp. nursing care can be found by the symptom the patient is displaying or the disease the patient has by looking these up in the index of your nursing textbook.

do the best you can and try to stay ahead and not get behind next term. keep a close eye on how well the instructors are keeping to the syllabus and call them on it.

I found this document here on a thread but I didn't save the thread but I saved the document.

I attached the file. It's a document that lets you list the disorder and you can write all the accompanying interventions, labs etc that go along with that disorder. I hope this helps. [=
