Do you recommend buying study guides such as chancellors or rue off of ebay to study...or just buy some of the books excelsior recommends and use the content guides? Do the content guides excelsior provides give enough info as to what you need to study? I'm not really sure what to do here.

I'll cast my vote. I used the books that EC recommends (often just checking them out from a medical library) and I took the practice tests when they were available. I found that to be a good combination and I did well without ever needing to purchase anything from a publishing company.

I bought a lot of study guides both from The College Network as well as Chancellor used off of eBay. I found that taking the Excelsior online practice exams and studying the rationales that they give you for your answers after the test is graded was MUCH better than trying to memorize every single detail in those study guides. Best $60.00 I ever spent in helping me push forward toward my RN was buying those Excelsior study guides.

Hey. I am an LPN and I have decided to go through excelsior to get my rn. When I called them, they said that you cannot buy any study guides from them. You have to sign up to do online programs. Is this not the case?
You can buy study guides published by The College Network or Chancellor's used off eBay. They are great, in my opinion.
