Welcome to the site
Check out the International forum especially the thread/sticky called Primer to working in the US. Also there are threads in the UK forum. Both can be found by clicking the local tab near the top of the page.
You are applying for licensure of which NCLEX is just part of the process. As a UK student you may have a few things against you due to training which is more specialised than the US.
There are a few of us in the UK forum either gone through the process or currently going through the process. We are currently affected by retrogression (no visas)but even without that you are looking at a process of 12 months before moving to the US although with retrogression it is taking a lot longer. Also there are a few of us meet most Tuesday nights in the chat room but you do need to have posted 15 times and been a member for over 2 days unless you become a premium member. There is also a student thread/sticky in the UK forum for UK students to post away
All info can be found by looking in the UK forum, International forum, upgrade membership and chat

You'll probably find that you will have to wait until you have been qualified at least a year before any agency will take you on, you will probably find that if you go it alone that you will still have to wait a bit as places are going to want experience. Sorry to give you bad news, but you will surprised how fast the year goes & what a difference it will make & how much knowledge you will gain.
not every hospital requires experience, many nurses can get jobs as new grads including foreign nurses, many agencies are know to ask for atleast 2 years experience. Saying that the process is well over 12 months at the moment so a great time, if possible, to gain experience. Also with retrogression a lot of hospitals are delaying offering jobs to foreign nurses, but still ok once completed training to start the process. As I mentioned in previous post you may not have enough hours in Paeds, Maternity, Mental health so may have to make hours up but the only way to find out is get CES full course done and sent to BON and they will make the decision to whether you are OK to sit the exam
thanx sorry bout the delat
