Does anyone know about the different avenues of taking out or obtain money for school? All that I can think of (beyond taking out a straight loan from a bank) is FAFSA, CalGrants, and maybe scholorships??
Thanks in advance.

not really...what i have found is the stafford loan, pell grants...i am searching for stuff now...if i find anything good i will send it your way! good luck :-)
Thank you. I would really appreciate it. Currently I'm in school however, i start in the FALL, so a second job wouldn't really be feasible but for only a few months. It's a option though. Thanks

Try talking to a financial aid counselor at your school, they should be able to help you quite a bit with other means of financing your education. That is what they get paid for.
This is true. I thought of that already. Actually I called yesterday only to be on hold for about 15 minutes before i realized "duhhh. it's Spring break, no one is there." That is my first step though... Thanks

There is always sallie may...you take out as much as the total price for the total education and only pay the interest while your in school
but for me it would mainly be a loan for the cost of living/books/uniform as i believe financial aid will cover the cost of my tuition. Any ideas here?

The entire student loan program and process is undergoing reform this year. Schools now make direct loans (Direct Loans or Ford Loans) to students. Loans from banks (Stafford loans) are not longer the norm.
Definitely contact the Financial Aid websites for the schools that you are interested in. The 'way things worked' in the past are no longer the way it works for Fall 2010 and beyond.
Thank you very much UVA GN. It appears that mutiple people are pushing me in the direction of the financial aid office. I will definitely do that. Thanks.
