Stuck

Hi, I've been off the Med Surg floor for two years. I did obtain my BSN but feel like I completely forgot everything. I'm terrified of the interview process and I am horrible at them. I can't deal with any more rejections so I just don't apply. Not working is causing me to feel depressed and unmotivated. I left previous job due to bullying and I feel I am not strong enough to go through it again, and I feel like it has left me bitter and discouraged. I feel stuck and don't know how to get myself out of this rut. ?

Now isn't the time to sell. Hold off until everything opens up then sell. An hour commute is brutal. In Cali that may be the norm but 1 hour there then your 12 then an hour back home? That's 14 hours gone assuming you get there on time. So realistically 15 hours gone. Also bad time to sell your home.

Left PCU position because they didn’t have the time or resources to train me. I refused a vent patient because I didn’t get training & the staff worked together to make up lies about me & bullied me. I also learned that I have epilepsy. I have the worst luck?

Sorry to hear that. I'm sending some good vibes your way to get you through the new year. What state do you live in currently? Are you still moving, or have you already?

I live in IL. I need good vibes coming my way. I really want to succeed and enjoy the place I work at. I'm passionate about nursing and love the science along with helping others.

I know you really want acutes, but it seems you're having a hard time. Try a LTACH. They always seem to hire, you will still use acute skills, but in a broader long term setting range. It'll build your confidence along with your skills.

Or, try acute dialysis. You'll be in the hospital, building relationships with hospital employees, while not working directly for the hospital, so away from the politics. I'd try to steer you to outpatient clinic dialysis, but you say you want acute setting.

I hope I've given you a couple of avenues to seriously think about. But I have a question for you: why so set on acute/hospital setting? Many of us couldn't be drug back into that setting unless our bills being paid, and eating, directly depended on it

Hi, thanks for your advice. I love the fast pace of acute care setting because I’m an adrenaline junkie...LOL. I hated it when I worked in SNF. The nurse to patient ratio was awful. I had 25-30 patients and most SNF are like this. I will look for retail clinic though & MS positions.

I'm an adrenaline junkie as well. I skydive and ride motorcycles for that ?
