No one will hire me for acute beacuse I have been in sub acute since I graduated only. year ago.. i feel trapped and depressed... its not where i want to be. I can't afford any more school... When i did agency i was always on acute... but the work is inconsistent money wise... Rehab is not where i want to be!

Have you had anyone look over your resume to see what you can sell?
Also, if you are doing agency work in acute care, then you need to be networking for those facilities and apply there.
Cast your network and see what you can do.
Best wishes.
Yes i was foolish when i worked an acute shift at the same hospital i was waiting to start my pool role.. they asked me if i wanted a jon and I thought i was being loyal by kindly declining thinking oppertunities would come my way eventually.. but when i started to ask my manger if i could start some acute shifts she said i had to wait the 6 months and then only they would consider me if my track record is good.... i frel like be then all my acut nursing skills will be gone... im thinking on going part time and going back to agency.. I live the hospital im at.. but not the role im in
If anyone knows a good resume person for nursing send them
my way!
I use LiveCareer.com as my resume builder and use key words that they use. It helped me get a few jobs.

Many of my former coworkers have moved on from subacute rehab into acute care hospital specialties such as med/surg, ortho, inpatient renal, neuro, and acute rehab.
You'll need to emphasize the experience you've accrued in subacute that would be applicable to the acute care setting (read: time management, wound care, med administration, assessments, Medicare charting).

Maybe you need to have someone proofread your resume. Grammar and spelling count...
