Streamlining patient care: any tips?

Our ER is going through a process now to streamline patients going through our ER. We are going to open a fast track soon, so this question is directed at getting pts in, treated and dispositioned. I like suggestions as to what works for you to decrease patients time in the ER, such as who cleans the room after the patient leaves? Do you do bedside blood testing? Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated as our hospital is probably going to be very open to any and all changes that we want to make to help with patient flow through the ER. One more question, what is the thermometer called that takes temps across the forehead? I saw this topic months ago and I can't seem to find it anymore. Thanks so much in advance for any and all tips, suggestions, and ideas.

Sorry, I meant these questions are directed at patients that aren't fast track material. Thanks again.
