Strange or Norm?

New nurse graduate. First job interview.

I had an interview with the nurse recruiter from HR today. The nurse manager is really excited about hiring me so apparently this was more a formality than anything else. The nurse recruiter didn't know what degree I had, that I had a previous degree, that I was still working, that I've worked in health care for 5+ years (obviously not as a nurse) etc.

Is it normal for the person in HR to not look at resumes if the nurse manager has already stated they want to hire someone? It was a tad off-putting to be "surprising" the recruiter with some of my answers.

Thanks!

I would say it's normal for the hr person to not look at your resume at all until you're sitting in front of them. That's been my experience.

They just seem to be there to answer benefits questions and to make sure you aren't a total weirdo before you taking you up to the nurse manager.
